Hit em straight
A bit of a drive for me (38 miles), but a challenging course…hit em straight even if you must give up a bit of distance. Nice greens and fairways are well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great Value, great course
Beautiful tees, fairways and greens. Unfortunately the pace of play was like watching paint dry.
Almost 3 hours to play 9 holes.
Thankfully we didn’t tee off later. Behind us it looked like the Eisenhower at rush hour
Worst part is $4.00 for a bag
Staff was friendly - The course maintenance has gotten better but greens were still burnt and cart paths inconsistent. Waited on at least half the holes . The food is crazy $4.00 for a bag of peanuts or a soda???
Hughes Creek
Played Bowes Creek Friday ($87) and Hughes Creek Saturday ($76). Felt that Bowes was in way better shape, had outstanding pace of play (under 4 hr. round), and golf carts with GPS. Love Hughes - played it over 10 times last season - but if you're going to charge $76 (and been doing so since April), then you need to step up. The new carts paths are great (but why not finished yet?). I will be back again, but probably not as much as last year.
Who they trying to fool?
Not worth it for the price. Course layout is weak. Seems like whoever designed it was just mowing holes one day to get the holes to work. No signature type holes, maybe 1-3 memorable holes if I had to try to pick. I’d rather play surrounding courses that are cheaper and better layouts than this one. Conditions are good but if your overcharging something better be good because I’m not going just to see a cart girl here n there
Good value for the money
Played this course quite a bit, it is always in good shape.
Early morning tee time, played 9 holes. First off so pace was not an issue. Tee boxes and parts of fairways and rough a bit beat up on the front 9. Greens seemed OK. The 4th hole is a blind shot so need to be aware.
Yikes
Uneven tee boxes, brutally long and bumpy greens none were anywhere close to consistent speeds, kinda slow play.
Not Worth the Price
I haven't played Hughes Creek in a few years and now I remember why. The course, at best, is in fair condition. The tee boxes are torn up. The greens are dried out and have sand on them. The fairways have a fair amount of crabgrass. This is a $30 course and not worth anything more. Play Tanna Farms or Mill Creek for less and both of those courses are in much better shape and are more challenging and fun to play. The pro-shop staff was also incompetent. There were three people standing in line waiting to check in but the staff ignored us and was booking a reservation over the phone. He could have easily put the person on hold and address his customers who were waiting to get on the course. The only good thing about the course was the bar staff namely Ann, who was very kind and attentive.
Tee boxes can they be worked on for sure on tee box 4 fairways non existent on Four also How about shutting that whole down needs to overhauled The greens need be fixed or just move the pins to a better part of the greens People want to score and if the greens aren’t taking care for we go elsewhere Take the money and run The customers service was excellent check in was a breeze Ed the starter enjoyed his Job I watched him getting us off the tee while checking up on the people coming up the 9th Great Starter it was also nice to have someone Drive around not hassling but showing presence Tee box and greens make golfers come back Put some love into the course
