Tanna Farms Golf Club
About
Tanna Farms Golf Club in Geneva offers some of the best golf that the Fox Valley has to offer. The layout meanders across prairies covered with wildflowers and weaves through lush wetlands. The course begins with the stunning signature hole. The par-3 opener has an island green that sets the scene for this thrilling and memorable round. Although it's a seemingly short course at 6,510 yards from the back tees, what it lacks in length it makes up for with plenty of other challenges. Besides the first hole, there are a few other tough par 3s, including one with a postage-stamp sized green. There are some daunting par 5s as well. Tanna Farms Golf Club is not a lengthy course but the layout is generously spaced to offer breathing room between the holes and the undulating slopes and subtle elevation changes make it pay much longer.

Incredibly Rude Staff
This place deserves zero stars because of the old miserable hag in the pro shop that ruined our round before it began. Boomer takes his $14 job too seriously and needs to re-retire. He would not let my brother and and I (scratch golfers) go off as a 2 ball even though the foursome before us said it was okay to skip them on the first hole so we could play by ourselves. The old man came running out of the proshop yelling at us and caused quite a scene at 7 am. This experience was so uncomfortable we decided to leave. The guy was rude and argumentative and acted like this was Medinah Country Club.
We went over to Mill Creek down the road instead and had a fast enjoyable round of golf. I will happily spend my money elsewhere and not get treated like crap. I don't understand why places don't accommodate.
Side note, I also booked this tee time on GolfNow and it said "$98 due at course", yet the same clown charged me more and blamed it on a "cart tax".
Great course layout, pace is play is slower than a turtle.
Great course layout with the conditions being decent. It took 5 hours to play. They didn’t do anything regarding the people in front of us taking forever. They need a regular Marshall out there. You shouldn’t be waiting 20 minutes before each hole.
Nice place
The course was very nice! It was challenging and loved the waterholes. The pace, the cart girl, the condition of the course was great. Would definitely go back!
Not good
Tee boxes were covered in divots. Greens were extremely slow and covered in ball marks. It was horrible. Then we also had a group of 5 in front of us. Waiting 10-15 mins on every shot. We quit after 12 holes and left. Will never be back
Great course, needs better drainage
Amazing course, love the variety and distance between holes but the water drainage could be better. A lot of wet spots
Great course
The course was challenging with its island greens and water side streems. Tee boxes need some water, kind of bare.
Great layout
This course has a great layout. Makes you think and forces you to make fairly accurate shots. It also temps you to "go for it". The back nine and front are a tale of 2 different courses. The front is way shorter, and the back is for big swingers. Bring your A game!
Tanna Farms
Fairly challenging course. Tight fairways. Plenty of water hazards. Bunkers are firm and compacted. Greens are OK. Pace of play is not bad.
Great value for a very good golf course
I’ve always liked golfing at Tana Farms and I like it more when I get a great rate thru GolfNow !
Great Muni but SLOW!!!
Great course. Our twosome took 5 hours to play. We were waiting on every single shot. At one point there were 4 groups on a single par 5. Need to have a Marshall pushing folks.
I saw this review and needed to respond. I play Tanna Farms 40+ times per season and the staff is AWESOME! I do not know which pro shop staff member this review is referencing, but I can’t imagine any of the guys acting in this manner. Second, if they were a two ball and the group said they could play ahead of them, I am sure there would have been no “push back” by the staff member. Even if there was, the two ball could go ahead and play through them on the par 5 second hole. Third, if this player only played one or two holes and then left, how could they possibly give an objective rating on the sub categories like course layout and conditions? All of those ratings are “POOR” and I can attest that Tanna’s layout is above average (if you like a shot maker’s course) and the condition is above average to excellent. Fourth, if they went over and played Mill Creek, Tanna Farms’ sister course located in the same neighborhood, they played a course managed by the same company as Tanna, staffed trained and evaluated the same as Tanna, maintained by the same greenskeeper and crew as Tanna and overall a weaker and less enjoyable course than Tanna (my opinion only). Finally, if you were not satisfied with your experience at Tanna Farms, but you were satisfied at Mill Creek, that just makes no sense. Both courses are managed, maintained, designed and promoted as “related courses”. There is very little difference in the experience between these two golf courses.
I want to sincerely THANK the management, staff and maintenance crew at Tanna Farms Golf Course. For over 20 years they have provided me with a pleasant experience and a well maintained golf course!
