Course fairways in bad shape
I've played this course many times over the years. They obviously have had issues with weather killing a lot of the low areas. Greens were in good shape. They need a ranger help speed up play.
Nice course with several water damaged fairways
This is a shorter course, but since its a par 70 it plays longer than you would expect. Most of the course was green, but several fairways must've been flooded in our recent rains which killed the grass. We just played winter rules and moved the ball as necessary. Half of the traps were also hard packed down from the rain. We still enjoyed the spectacular weather and had a great time. The range only allowed hitting off mats, and the putting green is very sloped, so not a great place to warm up, but the clubhouse bar/restaurant is great and offers a nice menu.
Another amazing couple rounds
Played 18 in the morning and another 9 after work. Just a fantastic course and staff. The mornings are quiet and walking here is like being in a forest preserve it’s very relaxing. After work took my wife out and played 9. Pace was a little slow they had a league playing but we were not in a hurry. Overall my absolute favorite course just for the relaxing vibes. I’ve gotten to know a couple morning regulars and it’s nice to see the same guys out there.
Holes on back nine should have been closed...
Course had multiple holes on the back nine where half or more of the fairway was dead, freshly reseeded, or otherwise in really bad shape. I get that the round wasn't expensive, but the overall course was in really rough shape. Probably needs a couple weeks with no one on it to recover.
Nice local golf course
Nice place to play. Pace was slow but enjoyable. Friendly people on and off the course. This course is narrow which adds to the slow play at time while people look for their off fairway shots. Definitely recommend and will play again.
Very disapointed with this course
I was not informed we were the last group at 9:30 due to an outing at 1:00 one the other guys in our group said he was told before tee it up on #1 that we had to be on hole #15 by 12:15. We had several groups in front of us we had to consistently wait on every front 9 that we finished hole #9 at 12:05 I didn't go to the back 9 no way we were going to make that. The pace of play was the worst I have seen this year on any course, very disapointed.
Still an Old Standby
Early morning weekend golf pace of play has been under 4 hours, 4 Sundays this year already. If the green speeds matched a little better that would be amazing as well as a little work on the tee boxes. Still my local fave.
Good course
Overall a very nice golf course. The layout and pro shop staff are very good. Didn’t eat at the restaurant, so can’t review that.
Play like a Pro
This course is nestled among homes in Sugar Grove. It’s a fun challenging course with many unique holes that will make for a fun outing. The short par fours allow the above average golfer to shoot a birdie or a par. The pace is always moving even on a Sunday. The course is in great shape and the 19th hole offers great drinks, food and live entertainment. Check out this gem in the far western suburbs.
Solid choice
If you can get out early, the pace of play is quick. We've played in under 4 hours 3 of the 4 Sundays in May and each time under 4 hours. We tee off before 8am. Once the course gets busy, there will be some waiting. Course is in good shape. Short enough to go low and challenging enough to keep you honest.
Great Course for the money.
The course was very crowded as the weather was great. The pace of play however was excellent, no wait on any hole. The course was in good condition. The greens were excellent.
Very Slow Pace...
Where are the rangers? Close to a 5 hour round because of very slow drunk hackers in front of us.
Been playing this course for years. Can’t ask for much more for a course layout, usually unkept pretty well. The staff isn’t always the friendliest. Never had an issue here besides the last time I came. Made a tee time a couple days in advance for 9 holes walking. Came in to pay and they said it was an 18 hole minimum… never told that on the phone when I made the tee time. Thought that was very shady behavior but for how many times I’ve played here with no issue, I’ll let it slide
Bliss is a laid back course that offers a lot
Excellent little course that has some pretty challenging holes that require some finesse mixed in with some standard par 4 and par 3 have a nice driving range hitting into a tunnel of trees. The restaurant attached to
The clubhouse is very cool and has great food. I walk this course regularly and the staff is incredibly chill and laid back also have a seperate stop off between 9th and 10th hole for food snacks beer all the goods. Outdoor eating space as welll really love the course and enjoy it the front nine is very nice decent amount of water and challenge back nine takes you into the woods that act as an amphitheater off the tee boxes of you like the sound of a good tee shot this will have you hot and bothered and the price is probably the best bang for your buck in the area.
