Avoid avoid avoid
Where do I start? Was it the random people jogging with their dogs, riding mountain bikes or just plain wandering around the course during play? Or should it be the fact that one hole had no green, while the very next hole had no tees, and then the NEXT hole had about 10 people burning a massive pile of yard waste in the middle of the fairway!? Or maybe it's the fact that this place charges you almost $60 per person for this nonsense. Worst golf experience in almost 10 years of golfing around the city. If this is your only option you are better off not golfing.
Thank you for the feedback. As the signage on #13 clearly indicates, we plan to rebuild the green. The burn you referenced was a group of ecology volunteers clearing and burning invasive brush (on the edge of the fairway) from the course to improve conditions.
Not in good shape!
Fairways and greens in terrible shape. It has potential but improvements are desperately needed. We will not play again until that happens.

Greens are awful. Beer is good.
Oh wow does this place need work for the price charged. Greens are chewed up mix of grass and dirt. Tee boxes are dried up. Plenty of fescue though. Wish it weren’t so.

Course was in terrible shape. Greens were not playable.

Memories
I began playing golf 66 years ago at Evanston Community Golf Course, now Canal Shores. Since then I’ve played many of the finest courses in the Country & UK. Served as chairman of the Western Golf Assoc. Lots of charm at CS but the conditions are disgraceful. If just the tees & greens were maintained it would make a huge difference.

We are very sorry you experienced difficult conditions on the course, but this year has been particularly challenging due to the severe drought. We are aware of the impacted areas on the course, and are working to upgrade the irrigation system. Please call us in the Pro Shop as we would like to offer you a pass for a future round.
Horrible place-Do Not WAste Your Money
In a word....this course sucks! It was like playing in a cow pasture. The greens were absolutely horrible; there were literally holes with no grass on just about every green, uneven and bumpy--really, really bad.
The fairways were uncut, overly dry, no attempt at all to make it look presentable. There were patches of high grass green side too that were out of place.
To make matters worse, there were no electric carts available forcing me to walk on a very warm and humid day.
I will NEVER play on this course again. Please close this course forever. It is an eyesore and doesn't deserve to be called a golf course.

In Terrible Shape
Don't play this course for more than $20. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are all in terrible shape. Trees need to be trimmed on half the tee boxes. Hit your ball straighter than straight, or else you're losing it.

The course itself is great with a nice layout. From time to time you have to wait for the neighbors to walk by which isn’t much of a bother as they are aware of the golfers as well. I think it would better if there were someone to actually fill up the water coolers on the course. We did stop at the stand by hole 9 for refreshments but they were sold out of everything by 11:30a. The course would be phenomenal if the greens were maintained far better than the state they are currently in right now.
