Lake of the Woods Golf Course - Championship

Good layout park style with tree lined fairways. Challenging but fair. Will play again

This golf course has improved over the last couple of years, but it needed some work.

It has a natural setting which they work to maintain. Lucky to have a course like this in

central illinois. That being said, it is a little pricey for what is provided.

Course is n great shape! I visit here a couple times/year and love it. The Fairway grass is a little sparce in the low areas, typical for this time of year.

Used every club n my bag today!

A good golf app is helpful if you haven't played here before. Fairway bunkers are well placed, the app will let you know where they are.

We chose this course to play on my husband’s birthday. We both enjoyed it very much everything was beautiful and peaceful. Especially enjoyed the five deer who are grazing close to the fairways.

The wildlife on this course is wonderful , it’s very pretty for a public course.

We were disappointed that we were unable to play through as a two-some (waiting for another two-some.)and were placed with people we didn’t know, but there was a two -some behind us.

It was a great round of golf. Even with fewer trees on the course than I am used to, we still managed to hit some.

Love this course, it's a great layout and tough, especially for a Muni! Fairways are tight, roughs are thick. Greens are in excellent shape.

Personally, I think the rating and slope need to be updated, they are too low.

One downside - the traps: some are excellent, some are hard pan (which doesn't bother me), some have WAY too much sand. A member told me today that there was a local rule n place that you can take a free drop because they're working on them.

Greens, tees, and fairways al in great condition. Bunkers need a lot of work, hard and have weeds growing in them. Very straight course, would play again.

To be fair this course has been in a wierd spot for three years. They are making improvements and the results will be in over the next few months. However, they have no second cut and don't mow regularly. You can literally lose a ball rolling in the fairway just into the rough on a drive. Some of the greens have had scabies for a few years. The layout is one of the best in the area IMO. One of the starters can be kinda of a dick. So much potential....

The course was in good shape. Pace of play was good even though it was very busy.

Love the layout, but greenskeeper obviously didn’t get laid last night. Tough pin positions! Greens not in best of shape! But a fun course!

Thoroughly enjoyed playing here! Not a typical mid-west flat course, lots of hills and undulations. Enough water to keep it interesting but not punishing. It's challenging but fair. Fairways are plenty wide, roughs will likely cost u a shot.

I'm pleasantly surprised how good of shape the greens are in given amount of play the course gets, very few unrepaired ball marks. Greens will definitely hold a good shot.

Great day to play golf and the course was busy. I can tell that management has put some work into repairing bunkers. However, tee boxes were a mess covered in weeds and many of the greens were in rough shape. Trying to putt on the greens were not fun! Many dead spots on the greens and some must’ve had a fungus on them. Overall, a decent course for the price but management needs to fix the tee boxes and greens to make it worth coming back out.

Love the layout of this course! Challenging, yet opportunity to score low.

Bunkers are junk. Hardly any sand - more mud than anything.

Visiting and was expecting a flat boring layout; it was anything but. Nice rolling hills with some beautiful holes. The par 5 15th stood out to me and played with my head. Friendly staff, highly recommend it.
