Course overall
Just a bad course. Multiple cups open on the greens. Cups were in rough shape.

Chickevans ranger needed
close to our home, very accessible. we love the staff! very informative and friendly. only downside is that we see so many groups teeing off multiple times at same hole, very slow golfers, but never had a ranger come to pace.
Great Forest Preserve Course
The staff Friendliness is second to none. The course has a very good and well-maintained greens, the layout is good. It’s come a long way in past couple of years. If you haven’t played here in couple of years, I encourage you to try it.
Best is, you can play late late in the year as they won’t close until it’s snowing and in 20is.
Jerry and Tom are great starters. Everyone is good to deal with.
Great Course Good Price
October golf in Chicago has its challenges the course is well-maintained and laid out to focus your iron accuracy.
Pace of play is usually good but of course as with any public course can I have it challenges
Biased Home Course Review
I started on this course. Love it. It’s not Pebble ok. The course gets flooded easily and can be a hot mess. Otherwise the layout is challenging. Water, narrow fairways, few holes are just straight up and down. Course is short but challenging. Look you have to hit it straight to play well here. Don’t let the par 71 fool you. This is a great course for amateurs and anyone above a 15 handicap trying to work it out and improve. Had a cart person the other day. Rare sighting but very welcome. Good food at turn for regular dogs and brats. Staff is friendly and if I saw correctly they just upgraded their carts. Thank god! Lol I’ll be back soon.
Not bad for a quick round
Don’t plan on good course conditions here. For a cheap round where you’re not really concerned with keeping score I would say go for it.
Shorter Cost Friendly Course
Course is conveniently located off Highway 94. Very reasonably priced.
At 5634 yards (Blue) par 71 it is a shorter course with several reachable par fours. There is no clubhouse but the pro shop sells food and beverages including beer..
Fairways and greens are typical of a Chicago public course.
KEEP IT IN PLAY
TIGHT COURSE, WITH SMALL GREENS, AND SHORT LAYOUT.
#3 HOLE IS IN BAD SHAPE, AND #10 HOLE GRASS SHOULD BE CUT BEFORE GREEN. MANY HOLES ARE HARD TO PAR, WHICH I KIND OF LIKE.. GREENS WERE IN GOOD SHAPE. CHIPPING WAS DIFFICULT BECAUSE OF HIGH GRASS.
Course
Nice course, clean and challenging. First time there will go again.
Thank you for your positive rating! We’re thrilled to hear you had a positive experience and can't wait to have you back again sometime soon.
Good course for the money
Nice course just off the highway. Relatively short course with good pace of play and accommodating staff.
Great value for the money
Home Course
Grew up on this course. I love this course. It's not the best course in the state but it's not as straight up and down as you may think. There are quirky holes that require planning. Some holes may be drivable for long drivers but you better be straight. I'd like to see the beverage art more. It's nice when they grill in-between the 9th and 10th hole outside. Pace can be slow, I can't remember the last time I ever saw a ranger out here. No driving range but can chip and putt. Overall, I will be content with this being my home course. Good course for the money. Looks like they upgraded their carts as well!
Thank you for your feedback. As a Cook County Forest Preserve Golf Course, we strive to provide public access to the golf course throughout all months of the year whenever it’s possible. In early winter, it’s a general practice to cut multiple holes in the greens so that foot traffic can evenly spread out across the green to prevent concentrated foot traffic to one hole in the green, which can cause excessive turf damage. The ground freezes and the turf is dormant in the winter time preventing us from moving hole locations until early Spring time. Again, we appreciate your feedback and would like to speak with you further regarding your experience. Please email us your contact information to info.chickevans@forestpreservegolf.com
