Good for beginners
First time playing. As a high handicap, I found this course enjoyable. No sand hazards. The tee boxes were. A little rough but not too bad. Greens and fairways were nice. Pace of play was a little slower but it was a busy Saturday with a slow group in front. Played after torrential rains and greens were good despite some water in the cups.
One hole has power lines that are pretty slow and next to a busy road without much protection, but other than that, pretty wide fairways.
Chick MAK Great
First 18 played this year. Power towers passing thru course are distracting, but I loved the challenge of Hole #3 even though I played it horribly. Great scenery & overall value for the money. Glad I walked it & exercised my irons. but carting next time. I will be back again.
Great for beginners
My husband and I really enjoyed this course. It was my first time at an 18 hole course and staff was very friendly and helpful. Great for beginners. Highly recommend!
Gem of the north
Worth comparing to courses around me north side of the city and close suburbs. Winnetka, Wilmette, Glencoe, Indian Boundary, this is the one of all of these. The only complaint I’d have is the power lines along the par 5 14th? On the back. Perfect drive dead straight down the fairway, a bomb, hit the power line. Then the next hole is a driveable par 4 where I drove the green so it all shakes out I suppose. Usually don’t like finishing with Par 3’s but I made a birdie so I’ll allow it. It’s like 15 bucks to play a very fun relatively short and easy course with some real funky and tough holes in there.
Decent course
Super cheap nice staff and good selection at pro shop for anything u need. Greens, tee boxes, and fairways are in kinda rough shape and the drainage is bad.
Challenging
It's a short course but it is very challenging. You don't have a lot of places to miss.
Local 18
Great course comin here for years , only downfall is the pace of play alot of shanker golfers and people that have no golf etiquette , front 9 harder then back 9
