Chick Evans Golf Course

Great coues conditions for the fall. Greens were outstanding aside from a couple holes form squirrels mining for nut stashes : ) Course layout is outstanding for a municipal course. #3 is a particular doozie. The Par 3's on 10 and 18 are pretty yet intimidating. A beautiful fall round with the color changes. Do yourself a favor, bundle up and bomb away.

Weather was good and it was the only course that had a tee time that I thought I could finish. I was wrong, got to 14, instead of 17 or 18. I'm not a big fan of playing County courses because pace of play is sssoooo slow. I only play them, when I have no other choice.

I have played 50 rounds of golf with my 10 year old twins this year and always take a cart because one of them has a disability that makes walking difficult. This is the first course in 2020 that told me both boys could not ride in the cart together and one of them had to walk. The manager also proceeded to tell me the cart is only rated for two adults and cannot hold an adult and two 10 year olds that weigh 60 pounds each??!!?? And he proceeded to say that if he saw the boys in the cart he would kick us off the course.

And to realize the starter, John, was the person that initially complained is baffling. He then had to ask the counter guy, who then had to get the manager. Why is anyone asking anyone about two 10 year olds riding in a cart??!!?? Complete idiots and I will NEVER RETURN.

Regarding the course, the condition is mediocre, play is SLOW (4.5 hours to get through 14 holes), and it's typical awful Forest Preserve Golf with jean wearing idiots.

Play someplace else as the staff is a disgrace and the course is not far behind.

Shot my best round of the year thanks to short holes and nice and easy greens.

Had not played this course in over 20 years. Better than it used to, but not in great shape. Very few sand traps, which I liked. There are about 5 holes that are very tight and the 3rd hole par 5 is very tough with very little landing area for your drive. There are several very easy holes. OK course if you can get if for cheap.

While the greens are fine, the fairways are in bad shape. Crab grass, swaths of dirt with no grass, tire tread marks, Some fairways have poor distance markings. This is not just because the past two weeks have been so dry. Sad.

Turns into a really nice course after third hole. Can alternate between soggy and baked out, but plays in a forgiving and entertaining manner and the price is right. Tends to move along at a decent pace.

Poorly conditioned fairways. The course is more weeds in the fairway with burned out fairway grass and dirt. Greens were okay and they rolled fairly well.

Slow play - no marshall or beverage cart. For an older or beginner player, this course will work for you. I played their due to its location.

Sometimes, you just want to get a round in without much concern for quality and spending too much money. Chick Evans lets you do this. While tee boxes and fairways are not in great shape, the greens were in great condition. As a shorter course, depending on your level, you may not be hitting driver too many times, if at all. Some narrow tee shots make for a few welcomed challenges on an a somewhat easy course. While I won't necessarily come to Chick Evans frequently, I'll definitely be back!

Short but fun course, hit driver on most holes.

Fairways are not watered, so you get lots of roll. Drink cart was around several times.

I had a 3 hour round - expected it would be longer. Can’t wait to play this course again!
