great deal
course was in great shape. moderately challenging. took a chance with the overcast skies with intermittent rain. had 1 bad hole with heavier rain otherwise great bargain from golf now. will be back for sure
worth a shot
the staff was very friendly---greens and t boxes were in very good condition as well and the fairways.
Only problem is that the course is poorly marked--directions to the following hole
Great location
Best thing about this course is we played 18 holes on a Saturday afternoon in 41/2 hours. Course was in good shape for a public course that gets alot of play.
Beautiful, challenging course
My first time playing and I absolutely loved the course. Good par 5s (2 of the first 3 holes) with doglegs and water to contend with. Greens were manicured, but very sloped so putting was tricky. I noticed more walkers on the course than I normally see, so don't expect a quick round. All in all took about 4 hours and being the only one in my group with a cart, I didn't move quite as fast as I would have liked.
Spectacular
What a surprise. I lucked out on golf now and just had to try this place. Beautiful lush tee boxes fairways and greens. Greens are soft but tricky. First course in the area where I really had to plan my shots. Staff was excellent pace was about 4hrs even. I don't think there was one blade of grass out of place. Not the longest course but by no means short. Flowers along tee boxes were prominent on most holes and just all around a nice track. Can't wait to play again
Fun course
Not extremely long, but plenty of trees and long thick rough to deal with. Course was in great shape, greens had plenty of break but rolled fairly true. Avoid the driver if you can't hit it in the fairway, the rough is very long and will grab the club-along with some rolling hills to ruin your stance. We got a great deal, but I would not think its worth more than 40$ in the afternoon. Carts were okay, but only had a very basic gps to the center of the green. For how expensive the course is you would think a nice GPS should be standard that shows the hole layout as well. First time playing here-a couple shots would have been better if I knew the layout of the hole.
Plan to Use Every Club in Your Bag
Oak Brook is a very well kept course, the fairways were good and the greens were in excellent condition. This by far was one of the most challenging courses I've played. Lots of doglegs, water comes in to play quite a bit and the greens and pin placements were challenging even for the most experienced putter. The only drawback was the pace of play was almost 5 hours which was very draining on a hot day. You will definitely use every club in your bag with this course and you need to think and have a plan to play this course smartly. I look forward to playing it again with a definite game plan. The course can be deceptive with short par 4's and greens were like Oakmont in some cases because if you didn't stay below the hole you didn't want to hit a downhill putt. All in all fun to play and looking forward to it again.
Very nice course and well kept
Great course and well worth the hot deal price we paid. I wouldn't pay full though.
Tee boxes have short grass and nice. Fairways were very nice and I believe bent grass. The greens were nice but man they were fast and a lot of slopes. Almost every green had a drop off in the back so be short than long.
Our cart was equipped with a gps that only showed you how far to the green. Also, our cart did have grass seed repairs.
Finally, We did grab food and the burgers and hot dogs were big and tasty. All in all we had a nice day out playing 18. Definitely go back again.
Beautifully Challenging
May not be the longest course in the western suburbs, but definitely have the truest greens. Beautifully and aesthetically designed, but very challenging. Easy said than done, but just hit 'em straight.
A little HELP
Hole markers would be beneficial on all holes. Hole #9 needs a sign to advise distance to the water. Playing from the white tee box it should be a layup to the water.
None of the carts were equipped with divot repair!
Greens were in good shape for so early in the season and are very tricky to putt on.
Tough pins
Challenging even from the white tee boxes
Fun times
Had a great time playing this course. I would definitely play this course again. We had a threesome and was paired with another player. That did not stop the fun. The greens were tricky and fast, the only problem was the 18th green was recently aerated, besides that good times.
37 and Windy
Recent rains/snow had left the course a bit soggy but otherwise in good shape. We walked to avoid the dreaded “cart path only” restriction. Only complaint was that the concession attendant was gone by the time we finished so there was no post round beer. We didn't use the driving range but it looked nice.
Great Time!
Great course in great location. Started out with very knowledgeable staff who helped with some tips and grabbed some balls that were on sale. Course was in very good shape considering time of year. Challenging with several dog legs, hazards and tough greens.
If your looking for a fun time on a challenging course with a very accommodating staff, this is the place to go. Oh yea, delicious egg sandwiches!
Superior Spring Conditions!!!
I have played this track for many years. Might be in the best condition I've ever experienced. Definitely a must play this Spring. The best public range in the area, hands down. All grass tee, with intimate location.
Great Value , challenging holes
The course was well maintained, greens very challenging. Overall a great golf experience. Would recommend to anyone who asks
Oak Brook
Great course with a great price . Friendly staff and well kept .
Dog-Leg Central and Sloped Greens
Played here on a Fri Afternoon and the round took about 5 hours. Booked a Hot Deal for a great rate.
Holes 3, 4, 5 and 6 all have severe dog legs that make the tee shot critical. Front 9 plays more difficult then back 9 due to tighter fairways and dog legs.
The greens here are true, yet very difficult to putt because the greens are severely sloped and undulating. Some Pin locations are just unfair to be honest ...
Good course... Poor course management!
The course overall was in pretty good condition. Something that is unacceptable is a 5 and half hour golf round. They try and cram everyone on the course and the rangers don't do one thing to speed up play. It's probably because the tee times are too close. I only play this course once or twice a season and now I've confirmed my reason...
Challenging course
Tough undulating greens. Course was in great shape. Some short par 4s but water and bunkers make them challenging. Highly recommend.
