Lovely Experience
Great public golf course and always in good condition. Very good value for the location, condition and service. I play here at least twice a month and pace of play has never been a problem. Definitely a good challenge for the average player. Driving range is all grass and staff is very friendly.
Great golf at a good value!
This course is hands down the best maintained municipal course in the west burbs. The condition of the course is always immaculate and the greens can get pretty speedy depending on the time. The course offers playability for the short hitter as well as the advanced golfer who wants to challenge himself. The greens are all undulating and can even test a good putter. The driving range is one of the best around with many top level instructors. The staff is very friendly and the food is great for a quick bite or a sit down lunch. All this with the convenience of the location makes it the best value of any golf courses around!
SLOW
Took 2:30 to play the front. Waited on ever tee box. Got to the 10th tee and there were 3 groups stacked up because they all decided to stop for 15 minutes at the turn.
I called the pro shop and asked for a ranger who came out and did literally nothing.
Overpriced
Overpriced. Short. Not in good shape. Extremely slow greens. Poor layout. Will not return.
Great course, ranger Hal
The course was in great condition. The staff was extremely friendly and course knowledgeable. Ranger Hal was extremely knowledgeable and took great care of us. He would check in every now and then , and make sure our round was going well. At first we thought we were playing to slow, but he advised us we were on pace and just wanted to make sure we were enjoying the course. Usually when you see the ranger pull up, you dread it, but not with Hal. He was there to lighten the mood and make sure your round is fun.
Better Than Average Course!
Overall condition excellent. Greens were moderately quick; pins placements were challenging. Golf cart in good condition but no gps. Clubhouse is clean but very 80:s. Beer prices good.
Great day of golf
Booked tee time that morning. Simple check-in and payment. Joined a 3 some on the tee and off went. Played under 4hrs, very little waiting. Saw the golf ranger once on the 18th green. Thankfully he was not needed during our round.
Great experience
Course was in great shape, greens a little slow, looking forward to next visit here, now that I am more familiar with the course.
Nice course, good challenge
Oak Brook in great shape, you use every club, and thinking about your set-ups pays off.
Staff is friendly and most helpful.
Nice Layout
The tail of 2 nines. Font nine played in 2 hrs 10 min. Back nine was a death march. Waited on every shot. Nice layout. Huge undulating greens that needed to be rolled. This could be set up to be extremely difficult. If greens were rolled and cut, putting will be at a premium.
Fun but a bit pricey
This is a fairly short course that offers a lot of risk/reward shots. Both times I've played here the course has been in very good condition, even in mid April. If you can grab a Hot Deal it's worth it. I'm not willing to pay full price at this course. Not many hills, a lot of water, and fairly wide fairways.
Great winter condition
For a 70 degree day in February this course was in excellent shape. Greens were green in color, didnt look like dormant grass. Rolled smoothly and weren't slow like most courses this time of year. Nice little challenging stretch of holes on the front where water comes into play. Few short par 4s offset by some longer Par 5's. Fun course! I'd like to play again in summer when in peak condition.
Great condition in February
Being unseasonably warm and having rained throughout the evening, most other courses were still very wet. This course had played as if it was an early summer day with dry fairways and stiff greens. While the course has an overall shorter distance the quick and wavy greens will even out scores for most players. This is one of my new favorite places to play for a decent value.
Love this track!!!
Thanks for opening early with the nice February weather. Great community golf course that takes pride in its course condition and service. Unreal how well the greens were rolling for time of season. Golf maintenance staff always has the course in the best of shape. Facility offers membership programs for both golf and driving range. Great value if you live in the western suburbs and can golf 2x a week. Pro shop attendant mentioned they are creating a Players Card for frequent golfers that will be available in mid March.
Still in good shape
A busy Friday afternoon with the unseasonably warm Feb weather. There were about 7 people showing up for the same 1:30 tee time, but have not had a problem like that in the past. Walked as a single, paired up with 3 others. Got around in about 4 hours. With the season, fairways were in good shape, greens rolling well. Bunkers in surprisingly good shape. Overall, feel that the course is generally overpriced during the regular season, usually waiting for specials online, but for the time of year, it was a great afternoon.
Always in great condition
Unseasonably warm day for late October but regardless of the time of year OBGC and it's staff are always at their best. If you've never played it I recommend you do.
Predictable good for teh money
Other players are always vey nice people!
