Enjoyed the course
OBGC was in pretty good shape except that the greens had been recently aerated/sanded so putting was a bit challenging. Course played slow at times but played in just over 4 hours. The practice facility is great and would have liked to stay around for a drink as the outdoor seating area is awesome. Need to come back with a buddy for the 19th hole.
Oak Brook
Plush fairways, everything was so green and well cut. Very nice course. Challenging. Had a twosome in front of us that was extremely slow but overall it was a great day of golf.
5some in front of us
Stuck behind a 5some who was playing back tees and couldn’t get off tee box. Took 3 hours for front 9 and left on a Monday afternoon. Wouldn’t do anything cause we booked via golfnow. Won’t be going back there
Not worth the price
Not worth $90. Greens did not run true and upkeep was not worth the money. Other courses in the area that provide more of a challenge and for less price. Also, outside of the staff at the concessions, staff do not make me and my friends feel welcomed. Even received cold stares from the regulars at the driving range. Did not make for a pleasant experience.
Been playing here for years. Pretty challenging for putting. Beautiful course, well maintained
Fun, Challenging Course
Oak Brook is a fun and challenging course to play due to its extreme doglegs and amount of water hazards. The course was in good shape especially for early spring. I hope to make it back there soon.
Nice but slow and expensive
This is a fun course with a nice layout. The pace of play is very slow. There are also a lot of bozos that play here. Compared to other courses I frequent the golfers I get paired with here are usually odd or dickish
Enjoyable but very Slow Green
It’s a fun and challenging course to play. Several very interesting holes with dog legs and well positioned water. The fairways and tees are in great shape, but the greens were slow and bumpy (maybe at a 7-8). Not sure they had to be if they were rolled and cut but that did take away from the experience. Good value for the money.
Course use to be very well maintained but is in disrepair and looks like they booked too many golfers
Not worth the money
Extremely disappointed, for $90 a round, plenty of better places. Greens were top 5 worst I’ve ever played on. Won’t ever go back unless they make some changes or drop price.
First time won't be my last
Beautiful cool sunny day playing this fun and challenging course for the first time. Layout with so many dog legs with water in play was a lot but overall enjoyable. Greens had some patchiness but putted fairly true and consistently. Very nice menu and outdoor grill seating.
Nice course
Course is beautiful. The surrounding area and nature trees make this course aesthetically pleasing to play. The tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. I know from past play that the greens are nice as well. Unfortunately they were just recovering from aeration so it’s hard to say they were in good shape. Wondering if they could have waited 3-4 more weeks when traffic on the course was less. The pace of play was brutal on a Friday afternoon. We started at 3:30 and only got 14 holes in. We figured at 2 hours per 9 we should have at least got close to 18 before it got dark. We finished the front 9 in 2:15 but when we hit number 10 there were 3 groups in front of us waiting to tee off. Not sure how that happened but needless to say pace was an issue on the back 9.
Overall based on the times I have been there I would definitely play the course again. Well maintained, the staff is great and the outdoor patio at the 19th hole is a great way to wrap up the round.
Horrible Conditions - Horrible Front 9 Layout
This course is terrible value for a twilight round in a metro area surrounded by incredible golf. The front 9 layout is just horrendous (but the back 9 is better).
There is no excuse for how horrible the greens were. The putting surfaces were like a game of Plinko. Nothing rolled smoothly. There are large brown patches and the fringes are a disaster. The 18th green was particular awful to the point of almost being unplayable.
$80+ on Tuesday and it takes 2.5 hours to finish 9 holes.
Used to play this course once a month. We would consider this place a “treat.” Pace of play was terrible. Nearly three hours to complete nine holes should be illegal. The greens were in rough condition and felt like concrete.
Overpriced for what you get
At over $90 this is a pass in the future. Tee boxes and greens were in awful shape. I expected so much more from such an expensive course in an expensive suburb. We will not be back.
