Very nice course for the price
Very friendly staff to start. The fairways, rough, and greens are well maintained. Will the head pro is a super nice guy and will help you with anything. Would recommend.
Very good and cheap!
This course is in great condition, the staff is friendly, and the pace of play has been quick! No complaints at all. Will the head pro is a really good guy. Would recommend this course to anyone.
Let go…..
The dandelions make it impossible to find your ball even if it’s 5 yards off the fairway. Makes it far less enjoyable. At least do one pass around the fairway with weed and feed (a couple times , takes one guy one day or less to do all 18 holes and keep it cut………..also, the putting and chipping green gets cut last so if you show up early to chip you will not gain a feel for the greens at all…….
Decent course
First time golfing there, was worth the 90 minute drive considering the deal that was going on. Everyone, from the workers to other golfers, were extremely pleasant. The course definitely needs some work with dandelion control. The bunkers were not impressive, typical with what I see at many courses in Illinois. Would definitely come here again.
A shame it’s gone downhill.
The greens were nice, appropriate muni medium speed and almost no pitch marks. I suspect primarily because of lack of play. The cost of $40 on a weekend sounds good but it isn’t worth it when you factor in the goose poop everywhere, no maintenance in the sand for years (I have played this course since 1988), a starter who cannot tell time and screws up, making the round well over 4 rounds on a three hour course, and finally, no food. Once known for its breaded tenderloin sandwich, now grab a plastic wrapped ham sandwich from the fridge.
It used to be a decent place to go and now it’s a dump. The course is ok but you can do a lot better. Oh, one more thing. I shot my best score of the year when I played, too.
got a good deal
was a lot of tall grass... needed some attention... had to spend a lot of time looking for our balls
Great place to play
Course in great shape. Friendly staff. Great place to play.
Tee blocks
The tee blocks could be a lot more flat, and kept up. Sand traps need work. But overall do to the lack of rain, I think it’s a good value.
Odd Course with Better Options Around
Strange little course. Not too challenging, but a few nasty surprises on the greens. Strange layout that I actually got lost on because it doesn’t follow a loop and signage is poor. For the money, Brookhill is a better option.
No marshal to control non etiquette golfers
Willow pond let’s fivesome groups. These groups will not let faster groups play through. I had to skip a hole to get around them in order to keep from playing a 6 hour round . The course should crack down on these types of bad etiquette golfers !! Or stop fivesomes
Great Value Great Condition
I was surprised the course was as soft as it was considering the lack of rain in the area.
Willow pond golf
The course was
In g0ood condition pace was good price was good from golfnow
Disappointed
Booked the Tee times through your site. The afternoon was pretty wide open. Nothing was said about league on the back 9 on your site or upon check in. Ended up having to play the front 9 twice. Lots of goose crap—everywhere!!
The second time around was terribly slow—waited
I’m practically every hole. The group in front of us seemed to be waiting some as well. Not excited to return!!
Greens roll good ,par 5's are reachable in 2
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable ,food is good and a great value.
