Nice course, slow play
5 hour round on a Tuesday afternoon, that should never happen.
Great course! Best Value in the area, keeps bringing me back.
Cant beat it they are nice, and professional. bunkers are washed out but the rain has been almost daily around here.
Nice course
I've played here several times. This course has some subtle contours, little elevation changes and a couple tough doglegs. Nice layout. Conditions are pretty good. I find the greens hard to read (is it flat?). The staff and other players are pretty friendly here and make for a positive round.
Decent course, slow play, traps like concrete
Good value for the money. However slow play (almost 5 hour round) without any sign of the players attendant, concrete like wet sand and unfixed greens (divots everywhere) made me think perhaps I should have waited till the course dries up. I still had a good time because of the nice people in my foursome.
Great Course
Village Greens is a great course. Challenging, yet, you will not loose many balls. The upkeep on the course is also great.
Poor
The tee boxes and greens were in terrible condition. Tee boxes were never mowed and the greens were not maintained well.
Good value, would play again
I'm an average golfer and my swing needs some work, but I enjoyed the round here. I played here on an extremely windy day, which wreaked havoc on some holes. We've had a lot of rain in the area recently, and you could tell the grounds crew was a little behind on the mowing, probably due to the rain (some sand traps were actually lakes with ducks wading in them), but overall the course was in good shape. Staff were super friendly from the moment we checked in to the 19th hole, and based on the web-rate we paid it was a good value. We did play behind a women's league, but we actually didn't need to wait on any hole except 18 on the approach shot (probably a good idea to make sure there's one hole open between you and last league group, if possible). Short story is I would play here again without hesitation, and I think anybody who is not a low handicap and/or picky golfer would enjoy the course.
The staff is very rude.
Staff in this course do not care about players. New workers need training. Old staff is very rude.
Great Course
The golf course was in excellent condition. The Greens were great.
great course for the price
We played for $29 for 18 holes with a cart (tee off before noon on a weekday) and the course was fun. The pace of play with 4 players was right at 4.5 hours and I felt we only had to wait 1-2 minutes on a few holes, most of the time the pace was smooth.
As for the course itself, the condition was good. The fairways were cut appropriately, the rough was tall enough to be a challenge, but short enough that you didn't lose a ball every time it left the fairway. A few of the sand traps had large amounts of standing water, and the ones that were playable were a little hard.
The staff were very friendly, courteous and honest. The beer girl even laughed at my jokes.
Course is in good shape minus the bunkers
Fairways and greens in good shape. Many bunkers were full of water and it was a few days since the last rain. The staff needs to educate golfers about fixing divots on greens as this was a problem on numerous greens
This course is a great value.
I got to play for $9 with a cart, which is an incredible value. Some may consider the scarcity of water on this course a plus also.
Nice course friendly staff
Course is in fairly good condition. Greens are not too fast and fairways are in great shape. Good course to just relax and play. Not too much trouble to get into. Bunkers were very hard.
Have played several times and always enjoy myself. Staff is friendly but not overbearing. Good place for an outing.
Good course for little money.
The course was in good shape, but a ranger hassled us to tighten a gap between us and the next group when we were close enough we drove into them a couple times. They often try to cram too many people together.
The course is in great shape, the greens are smooth & fast
I have played the at Village Greens for several years & it is in the best shape since I have have played there. The staff is always friendly & professional
greens are speedy...everything looks nice...still needs some sand in the bunkers
The course is fine and the fee was fair...but we did not know until we were there that there was a Ladies League on the back nine ...they said we might catch them which we did on the the 11th hole...therefor could not finish... Discounted rates should come with a little footnote as to why they are so discounted!!!
older tree lined course
course needs updating in bunkers, which they are in the process of doing, course needs more watering, teeboxes are fairly hard, greens the same way, and fast, but once again they are improving these areas,
need yardage markers more visabile
course was in good condition will go back club cleaners on course would be nice.
Well kept municipal course
Nice layout, watch the greens can be quick.
Great friendly staff.
Convenient venue
The pace of play on the front nine was good. It was slow on the back with no marshalls on the course to speed up play. Part of the problem is the half-way restaurant takes too long to serve simple sandwiches. We had a three-foursome back-up on ten because of their delays. Waited 15-20 minutes in between then the pace was very slow. 1:50 on the front. 2:20 on the back.
