Very playable course conditions
The cautions in the course description are rather unsettling, but the course is ~90% recovered and is very playable. Only a few areas of a few.fairways are affected.
Outstanding value on a hot deal rate, but not such a value at the non-discounted $40 rate that was posted on our day of play.
The course is straightforward, the fairways wide, greens large and simple so a mid to high handicapper can thoroughly enjoy the course.
It won't challenge a single digit handicapper, but it's a great property for the average golfer.
First time back in years and the last
Gave this course another shot after a few years away and I should have just played the mini golf next door. The Golf Now rate of $25 was what sparked my interest to try this course again, and even that is too much for the shape this course is in. Anyone who pays full price to play here is crazy when there are so many decent courses in the area. Worst tee boxes and fairways in the area by far and I do not think they have raked the sand traps all year. I understand they dealt with a fungus a few years ago, but they have had plenty of time to turn things around. It’s only a matter of time before this course is turned into a subdivision.

Pretty good
After the wet spring it was pretty lush. Very challenging hole placement behind some crazy protective green bunkers. I loved that! A few of the greens had just been resodded and roped off so we would have to lift the rope lying on the ground for each other to actually roll (that is only temporary). My only grudge is that they were spraying fertilizer on the greens we were playing onto. Not good etiquette in my opinion. Do that at night, or anything else. It jacked up the green speed and covered our gear with God knows what.

In poor shape!
This course is not in good condition. It appears the wet Chicagoland weather has really hurt this course. Every fairway and all roughs need immediate mowing!

Horrible Course Conditions
Course was horrible playing conditions. We booked online and expected the course to be at least in average Chicago Park District conditions. This was not the case as the course was in disarray from the rough to the fairway. I would not recommend this course unless it was free of charge. Totally unacceptable to hit a great drive down the center of the fairway and still unable to locate your ball due to brown debri and cut grass shavings everywhere. I definitely was not satisfied with my experience.

Course in horrible condition. Tee boxes like hitting from rough. Fairways torn up.

Nice course, good value
Beautiful day, decent course, great value. Course was in great condition given all the rain lately. Bunkers were the only drawback as some were barely playable, but overall it was a solid play.

Beware
I’ve played this course numerous times and always enjoyed it. Today was a different story. It looked like their greenskeeper quit. The grass has not been cut all year. The fairways looked like rough, and the rough looked like a tall-grass hazard. No rangers out to keep pace of play and many walkers out. Overall a terrible experience. I would normally recommend this course to anyone but not after today. I will not be back.
You are absolutely correct. Due to all of the recent rain, portions of our course, like many others in the area, have not been mown the way we normally do. We simply can’t get mowers into the wet areas. Hopefully you understand that the 10 inches of rain we've received this month have prevented us from performing normal course maintenance. We've done our best to communicate our current conditions across numerous platforms in order to provide our guests an accurate assessment prior to playing. Here’s hoping we see you again when things dry out.
In bad shape
Fairways are full of holes and the grass is missing in many spots. Drainage is terrible. The greens were covered in debris so putting was impossible

Wet From Excessive Rain
The course was extremely wet due to heavy rains in the past week. The fairways are also being reseeded so there were many bare spots as we were warned. As soon as the new grass grows in and the course dries up this will be a great play.

Very poor condition.
The course was in very poor condition, might still have the fungus from previous years. Needs a lot of work on the fairways and the tee boxes. The pace of play was slow for an 11 am tee time. Sand traps were in (understandably) poor conditions due to all of the rain. Hope they turn things around because it is a nice course. I would not recommend playing there at this time.

Fairways are brutal. Paid 11.00 including cart so I can't complain too much, but THE FAIRWAYS ARE BRUTAL

The facts about the illage Greens golf couse.
I think the Village Greens course is a great place to play golf. The golf course somehow keeps afloat without any Woodridge tax money. The only thing that discusses me about VG --- they still do not have a nice bar in the clubhouse to commiserate with people after I play my round. This could change if the jerk managing the woodridge tax distribution would allow the golf course to use some of our inflated taxes.

A real Gem
This is what golf should be, fun and affordable. It is a course that I have enjoyed playing for years and have not gotten tired of the design. It is a course full of solid holes with a couple that will allow you to test your skill. The course condition is always top notch. The staff are helpful, friendly and welcoming.
