Not in good shape
The rough was very wet, long and was just being cut and clippings left everywhere and the big complaint was the greens… They were terrible. I don't know what has happened to them but practically every one if not all had brown blight spots all over the green. It did not make for a good experience overall. When you're putting for a birdie or a par and have to deal with constant irregularity in the putting surface, it does not make for a easy time. The free bottle of water did not make up for it at all… LOL
Stay off this DOGTRACK
I grew up playing Village Greens and this course has drastically changed over the years. The course is in absolutely disgusting shape this year. They do not fix any divots on the greens, it looks like a meteor shower attacked all the greens. The course also does not cut the tee boxes, it feels like you are teeing off from the rough. They also do not have any cart girls on the course and no water on the course. Hole 14 is in such bad shape they made the par 4 into a par 3. The course actually still hangs the sign in the pro-shop "Best course in Illinois in 2001". I am embarrassed in how terrible this course is. I paid 45 dollars to play here. They should not be charging anything more than 10 dollars. Please go to any other course in the area, this place is beat up and terrible.
LOL...they've had a ton of rain in the past month and a little disease on some of the greens as a result. I played the other day and everything was mown well. The greens are coming back. You should try it again soon. I play all the time and they've gotten so much better over the past few years, except when it rains a ton.
Tough When Hot - Water Removed From Course
Nice layout, but some damage on fairways from previous flooding.
No water available out on the course now! The course withdrew all water coolers so the only available water is from the clubhouse or the cart.
Practice green is not the same speed as greens on the course
Village Greens of Woodridge
This is a great course for all skill sets. It will require some good course management. There are holes that are worth going for it and others where you need to be a little cautious. Great layout, friendly staff. The only thing that could be improved would be if more people would fix their ball marks on the greens. It doesn't require much time. Too many Sunday golfers with no regard for the course.
Fairways at Village Greens
Always fun at village greens always get paired with friendly golfers; great course - with immediate access to the driving range off the 1st tee. One of our foursome couldn't make it then at the turn around the manager asked it we would take on an additional golfer and offered a refreshing beverage for doing so (I would of said yes anyway sometimes courses overbook) She was very friendly and fit right in with our group. It was another great loop at Village greens and I played pretty good too.
Village Greens of Woodridge
The staff at Village Greens is wonderful. The pace of play for a Sunday was ok. 4 hours 20 minutes teeing off @3:21pm. The only drawback are the bunkers, virtually no sand, sometimes hard & crusty. The rest of the course is in good shape. The greens roll well. The fairways are well groomed. Overall a very positive round of golf for a Sunday afternoon. A great value for the western suburbs.
Fun Course
Lots of mature trees and lush grass. Pace was a little slow, but on a Saturday with optimal weather conditions it was expected. Front nine was dry, but the back has a lot of water in play. I would highly recommend this course to golfers of any skill levels. Staff was super friendly. Only gripe is no water stations anywhere on the course. Cart girl was around often but additional water would had been nice on a summer day.
I would play it again.
The course is alittle tight. But fair. The staff was great. The beer cart girl was out many times. The price was fantastic from golfnow. I would refer friends to it
Course worth playing
They have done great work on the course and it is in great shape. It has improved significantly over the years and I am pleased with the improvements.
Village Greens
Decent course. Well maintained. Played on a busy Saturday morning. Took 4 hrs, wasn't too bad considering the amount of walkers.. Not terribly challenging. You could find yourself in trouble with some poor shots though.
Reco
Fairways good! Off fairways grass too long!!!
Overall pretty good!!
Thanks for the nice review on GolfNow, RicoHuggz. You caught us right after some heavy rains and we weren't able to get to some areas of the rough right away. Thanks for looking past that and hope you had a great round! We posted your nice review on our Facebook page as well! Hope to see you again soon.

Decesent Speed on Greens
Mostly a position course off the Tee, but there are some holes that let you bomb away. I like fast greens and these had pretty good speed to them.
Thanks for the nice review, Dave2458324. We've been working on our greens and glad you noticed the improvement. Hope to see you again soon!

Fall conditions but still nice
Greens need a little TLC (aerification scheduled for early November). Lots of leaves on some greens, but it is fall so that is acceptable. I think they do a very nice job with this course. I've played here twice in 2015 and enjoyed both rounds.
I really like the par 5 #18. High risk/reward trying to carry the left side of the water hazard.
Slow
Overbooked the course!! Waiting to long between holes but the ranger did a good job trying to increase the pace of play
Overload
The course was full and had families with juniors playing, single walkers, guys sharing a bag and NO RANGER. 5:10 for 18. That's when a $30 HOT DEAL isn't.
Good course
This is a fair, enjoyable course. No mickey-mouse gimmicky holes or unfair bunker placements. Challenging enough for a 14 handicapper like me. The only downside is that they had a lot of old ladies out there playing very SLOW.
Yeah, I talked to the pros over there and they said the greens are just starting to recover from the floods and disease. The 14 fairway was underwater for a week and they reseeded and it's coming back. Should be in better shape soon. Still a good deal for $30.
