Good challenge in very good condition
Greeting by staff starts round out right. Blue tees a challenge and greens are true.
nice and clean course
Clean greens and maintained-cut deep grass. Some drain issues true out the fairways but not deal breaker...
maintenacen is due
While there were some signs of repair in process, but more is needed (bunkers were rain soaked). Rough was cut extremely deep making it difficult to locate wayward balls and slowed play. Layout was fairly straight forward and not extremely interesting or challenging.
Great value
Today, the course was in excellent shape, especially given the recent rains. A few bunkers still had water standing, but overall I was pleased. Two of the 6 or so water coolers were empty. They're usually full. Rough was a thick, but not to the point where you were losing balls. Pace of place was nice. Front 9 in 2 hours, back nine around 1.75 hours. I was expecting a much longer round considering it was July 4th.
For those of you haven't played here, the course is short with large greens with gentle slopes. Lots of doglegged par 4's with bunkers at 250-260 range from the tips. Not much elevation change or water. The course does have quite a number of trees, however there is usually several yards of rough between them and the fairway. You'll never feel claustrophobic. 2, 6, 11, 14, and 18 are the most interesting tee shots.
The bunker renovation on 18 looks great. Makes you consider going for 18 in two while in the past it was always an easy "bomb's away" decision. It has really made 18 into this course's best hole. Not a huge fan of the renovation on 17. The new bunker front right doesn't really come into play unless you hit a terrible first shot; however, it does hide the front right pin location.
I would highly recommend this course for a $20-25 deal.
This course is always fun and a challenge !
Village Greens is always a fun time. I have been playing this course for many years and it is always a good time. It has some easy holes and some challenges too. It's all good. Ups and downs !The Fairways were in great shape, the Greens were pretty good although there was still some damaged areas from the harsh winter and as usual the water was wet !
Review
This was my first time golfing here. I loved the course. The staff was extremely helpful. Great course. Looking forward to golfing here again!
Rough is so high you can lose clubs as well as balls.
The rough is ridiculous-over one's ankles, many tee boxes are overgrown, bunkers are flooded and greens are either too long (slower than slow) or sanded rock hard.
Early 18
Course seemed damaged from rough winter and spring storms, looks like a nice course once summer comes
It is a good challenge anmd quite convenient for me
This past winter was harsh on most everything. It has been my experience over the years, that Village Greens of Woodridge is typically in nice condition.
Because of recent rain, the ruff was brutal. I play everything down and because I strayed off the fairway, the ruff ate me up on the front side where I shot even 50. The back was mine however. I kept the ball in play for the most part and came in with a 39 that included birdies at the 13th and 15th. Anyway, I played from back tees, and because of wettish type weather, It played longer than 6638.
This course a good mix of features
Good Course. Always enjoy playing there when I get the time to get out.
Need some TLC
The winter took a heavy toll on this course as did heavy rains. Poor irrigation has left the fairways scarred. Hope to see the course come back as it's a good value and fun to play.
Great Value
The fairways were not in great condition but the greens were well maintained and the course is long enough. For the value, it was excellent and the pace of play was at 3-3 1/2 hours
Great price.
The course is a little torn up but the golf now price was unbeatable. Pace of play was a little slow but my son and I finished 14 before dark. 25 bucks for both of us with a cart was a bargain.
nice open course
Played this course for my first time the other day. Its pretty early in the season so the course was soggy and wet from all the snow melt. Overall, I was very impressed by this course. It's a good course for beginners and has a fair share of water and sand. I would recommend this course. The price fluctuates but it is usually a very good deal.
Nice shape for December
Just the chance to play golf in December in the Chicagoland area is an amazing thing in and of itself! Course conditions were surprisingly good for this time of year. And have to love the GolfNow deal I was able to take advantage of at the last minute.
Village Greens indeed
I've played here in a league for years. The tough thing about this course is the greens. They are gigantic. You need to be able to stick your approach and chip shots close to the pin to score well here because just hitting the green is by no means a comfortable two-putt. Depending on pin placement, you can easily be left with a 50 footer (or more!) on many holes. They don't call it Village Greens for nothing. Pace of play can be slow. It does get crowded here as it's the only 18 in that direct vicinity. It's a better value with discounts.
Great course!!
This course has a great variety challenges. Good amount of par 4 & 5s. Some water. Well taken care of!!
This course is well maintained
The course is is great shape and has enough challenge for any player. The layout allows for fast play and easy access to food and beverages pre or post round.
The greens make up for the course
The course is in decent shape for this time of year. What i really liked about Village Greens is that the greens were in great shape and were rolling well. I feel the fairways can be cut a bit more. Good treeline makes you focus on hitting fairways. Although hilly it makes you think about the next shot and your actual distance.
