About
Laid out on the east banks of the White River in the town of Fishers, this par-71 Gary Kern design offers a pleasant parkland round of golf. As a country club that is open for public play, River Glen serves up a friendly atmosphere and superb course conditions. Recent renovations have elevated the course in the eyes of locals and visitors alike, and it is regarded as one of Hamilton County’s best places for a round.

River Glen
The back 9 was water logged, the fairways were barren of grass in many many areas on the back 9 holes.
If I would have known this I would not have played the course.
Needs to recover
Cart path only on the first two holes and the entire back nine due to August floods. It is a beautiful setting but the course needs some time to recover with reseeding and care.
They probably shouldn’t the open
Course conditions are some of the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. Hit hard with the flood clearly, they shouldn’t be operating at the moment. 5 and a half hours for 16 holes.
Heroic Comeback
The round had 2 major situations.
1) The White River flooded the course in August and
2) The ungodly heat.
That said, our foursome was impressed at the monumental effort being made by the grounds crew to get the course back in playing condition. They have a ways to go to get there, but hey, we played and got a great deal from Golf Now.
Despite the heat, we decided to tough it out and play the back 9 (cart path only) which was the roughest area of the course, as several of the fairways are bordered on the left by the White River. We made it through, had some beers at the 19th hole and lived to tell the tale. Literally a round that golf legends are made of.
Cost for playing absolutely crazy
Unfortunately with flooding in the area must of the course was like playing on a farmers field definitely not worth the money at the moment
Nice layout
Course is layed out nicely. Good for all levels of golfers.
Our cart had no sand bottles to fill divots
Only negative was food was a little overpriced.
I will play it again
2nd-timer
Only my 2nd time playing here, but WOW really enjoyed it. Beautiful scenery and course layout. Will be back!
Pace of Play
Behind four foursomes doing a “mini” outing. No ranger to keep pace. No self awareness to maintain control. Was told to go early however put right behind foursomes vs giving some separation. Awful
Old Hoosiers
Very enjoyable round. Close to the city but felt like being in the country will play again
Awesome layout - great conditions!
First time playing this course but not the last. Conditions as good as a private club I am a member at and an extremely good value for the money. Will return every time our club is closed for any reason. Highly recommend.
Very pleased with the value and experience
Challenging course, fast and undulating greens! Some very scorable holes and a couple head busters. Beautiful scenery and some ornery critters (raccoon stole my pistachios when I was teeing off) smh. Bro had moxie!! Super fun round. I desire to return when I’m back in Indy. Very affordable with the hot deal!! It’s a steal.
Operations and Management Are a Joke
Paid for a tee time online through GolfNow. I showed up and checked in only to find my name on a scramble list for a golf league and people standing around everywhere, waiting on a golf cart. There was a golf outing that wasn’t finished and another Wednesday night scramble waiting to start. I asked the staff member in the office about why I was grouped in with the league and he said I could start with them and then break off. Umm, no thanks? I asked how realistic that was going to be for the pace of play and he then directed me to the head pro. Upon speaking to the head pro and asking the same questions, he blamed it on GolfNow for selling tee times. I informed him it was his course and he is in control, then acted like I was the idiot for being concerned about pace of play for purchasing a twilight rate at 5:36pm when the sun goes down at 9:00pm. Being caught in a league and waiting 15 mins on each tee box, if not more, has nothing to do with a twilight rate, but everything to do with the management of course operations. The head pro was rude, dismissive, and could care less as long as they’re making a buck by overbooking their course. We were able to get 8 holes in 3 hours. Insanely slow pace of play.
Didn’t play called and had to cancel
Yes can I get my deposit back I had called them and canceled because didn’t realize I booked for Friday not Saturday
Best value for the cost of any golf course in the area
River Glen never fails to provide a great day on the golf course. The course offers challenge but is fair and is in great condition. The pace of play was outstanding. I highly recommend this course over many others in the area because for the cost of a round here, there just isn't any better value and honestly, this course, regardless of the cost, is superior to others in the north part of Indianapolis. Will definitely be back!
