Plum Creek Golf Club

About
Opened in 1998, this Pete Dye design has hosted several high-level college and professional golf tournaments while simultaneously serving thousands of enthusiastic amateur golfers throughout greater Indianapolis and beyond. With five sets of tees ranging from just under 7,000 yards to just over 5,000, Plum Creek is playable by all golfers. Several ponds and a winding stream come into play throughout the course, placing a premium on smart play, all while minimizing the need for forced carries for higher-handicap players.

Awesome!!! best in Carmel
it is so nice to play and beautiful courses. Very enjoyable with friends and family.
Far Better Options
I’m a slow learner so it took me a while to wake up and smell the coffee. I’d been playing this course regularly for over ten years. I played here blindly because it was close to my office and play seemed to move at a reasonable pace. But as changes continued over the last few years it was time to step back and think about what I was really getting for my money. Just because you charge a premium price doesn’t mean you provide a premium product or experience. I would encourage everyone to look around. There are way too many better, more affordable options out there.
Course. Generally it’s uninspiring. While it’s adequately maintained, it’s what you’d expect from an Indiana corn field course. Few if any mature trees, very little topography and rough over-grown with weeds. There are creeks and water hazards, but few that meaningfully come into play. Water hazard maintenance is questionable. I have on occasion encountered people in golf carts fishing during playing hours, interesting. I assume that’s a member privilege.
On Course Amenities. I get protecting sensitive areas. But their golf carts, while functional, are so locked out of so many areas they’re extremely annoying. If you play with someone with even moderate mobility issues, like I do, this presents an extreme challenge. On course restroom facilities amount to two randomly placed poorly maintained port-o-let stations. If you’re “lucky” enough to find them, nothing is more inviting on a nice hot summer day than a hot, steaming, poorly maintained port-o-let. Especially for the lady golfers. I’ve heard they have drink carts on the course. Unfortunately I’ve never seen one. So, you’re left with their moldy/algae filled water cooler stations.
Clubhouse Amenities. I’d describe the clubhouse, pro shop, snack/bar area, restroom and practice facilities as adequate. Nothing to get excited about, but functional. Although I would describe the restroom facilities, the only ones on site, as meager. There are no workout facilities although you can for an extra charge join a remote pool. I’ve eaten here during a round and in the evening when specials were offered. I wouldn’t recommend either.
Staff. Staff is cordial with a bit of an elitest edge. Helpful if asked. But I don’t think I ever encountered anyone going out of their way to be helpful.
Tempo of Play. Yet another bone of contention for me. They don’t seem to control the playing groups. I was continually confronted with singles or twosomes behind us wanting to play through. Add the occasional fivesome and the tempo of play ground to a frustrating snail’s pace.
Price. While I understand things are more expensive, at $81 you’re paying a premium price for an average experience. I have several friends who had been members and have moved on. At $4,500 for a single, $5,500 for a couple and $5,900 for a family with uncontrolled pay, an average course experience and only adequate facilities it wasn’t worth it.

Let’s go!
Plum Creek is always on my short list of great golf in Indiana. The course is in good shape and has a really friendly staff. If you’re looking for a classic links style Golf, Plum has you covered.
Good course, fun to play. Good value with hot deal
1st 18 of the year on Plum Creek
Played with my son and grandson. It had rained alot the day before, but had drained pretty well. It was cart path only, so I wished I would have brought my push cart. It was alot of walking and we were wore out by the end of 18. It was comfortable when the sun was out, but we needed our jackets with the clouds and wind. My son said, I like this course the best of the Indy area for the money.
Great layout
Still cold being March, but my son and I had a great time here. They have a good number of different tees for you to choose from and just the right amount of difficulty to make the course really interesting. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful, Fall Golf!
Great pace of play and pretty good conditions. The greens were a bit sandy, and bumpy, but otherwise, good.
Good local course
Plum Creek is a good local Indy course. The course was not crowded on a weekday afternoon. The course was in pretty good condition especially considering the lack of rain. There are some holes where it is difficult to navigate to the next hole. One downside was there were limited restroom facilities and drinking water available on the course.
Very enjoyable round
Course was in really good condition. Course gets a lot play, but was surprised the pace was good (played in 4 hrs).
Plum Creek-Exceptional Layout and Course Comditions
This course was a dandy. The staff was engaging and happy. The cart fellas great too and we we paired with another couple golfers and they were great! Course conditions were perfect, fairways plush, greens were fast and fair.! I will play again if it works…..😁😁😁
