Need friendlier staff
The old men that work there need to retire and do something they would actually enjoy. Other than that if you have a choice stay away from the Red course. Conditions were not the best and the layout is suspect. Grey course is no doubt the nicest of the three.
I have always played Riverpoint for the last couple years at least 7 to 10 times a year. Pace of play is probably one of the better courses in Lake County portage area, Rates are affordable, friendly people and always an open tee time.
The course was in good condition. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely return.
GREAT PLACE to Play!!!!
Absolutely has NEVER had a MORE friendly staff to work with..... Andy & Annie are the BEST!!!!!! Atmosphere is just OUTSTANDING
Best condition in years
Mid-May golf and the course conditions are great. Real sand in the traps and can actually hit out of them.
I thought the greens were a little firm for so early in the year.
Course can be improved
The condition of the course for this time in the year is unacceptable. Fairways and rough were well past due to be mowed. Weeds were everywhere except the greens. Very disappointed.
Staff was on it all the way and super friendly! Course was in ok shape They are doing some upgrades. But didn’t affect much on play. Overall great course.
White / Blue Courses
I played the White / Blue courses on Friday the 7th. Both nines were in decent shape given the recent rain we had in the area. The greens were in good shape. The bunkers could use a little work, but again it's early in the year. This was the first time playing the Blue course and it is obviously the newest of the three. It's very nice layout. All the staff were extremely friendly. I will be back.
Best course in area for the price
One of my favorite courses in 219. Staff is always accommodating. Conditions are great. Very well kept facility you can tell they take pride in it. They’re also super nice about having a rider when some of the less desirable courses near by charge an arm and a leg for someone to ride along. Always my top 3 choices when picking where to golf !!
Gave it a second chance
The first time I played here I ran into a group of arrogant older gentleman who didn’t like what I had to say to them in response to their comments. The same thing happened this time with a different group. I keep a good pace of play and I don’t crowd the people in front of me when I play as a single because a group who is keeping good pace doesn’t need to have someone playing into them. This is the only course in northwest indiana and the south suburbs I get into it with someone every time I come here. I’d have gladly got paired up with another group had the starter decided to do that. That being said I won’t be back. The crowd at this place during the week sucks and it’s not really worth the money anyways.
This is a great course. However if you happen to bring someone who isn't fully educated on course rules avoid this course. The starter was incredibly rude. We were on time for our start. I'd brought someone who is new to golf and the starter was super rude to him. It's a great way to drive younger people away from the game and this guy needs to do better
