Hidden Gem
If you’re looking for a course that has that old school feel and a few corky (good corky) holes, I would recommend playing Scherwood. This course is set up for any type of golfer except maybe a beginner beginner First time playing it, I would say this course kept me wanting more. It has little surprises that I enjoyed. Don’t forget your range finder (like I did)...it would be quite helpful with gauging some drives and par 3’s...played from tips and was fairly long. I would definitely play there again when in the area.
Screaming deal at 10 bucks
Better bring your own food, as they have nothing other than hotdogs and chips, maybe because its late October...
Pin placements too hard
For midweek pin placements did not need to be so difficult otherwise had good time and course played well even with aerated greens
Aeration greens were punched but they did not sand. It was hard to putt Lined up putts and rolled ball to cup and ball jumped right or left because of holes.
It was not announced whe we booked.
Starter said we might have to play back nine twice due to aeration.
Maintained Well
I have been playing here for years and play it roughly 6 times a year. They do a nice job keeping up the course and leaf control is better than average. Last year, I had my 2nd hole in 1 on the course and the owner, Marv, bought us all a round. Gret place to play.
Scherwood Golf - A Course to Enjoy
Fairways and greens were in excellent shape. I believe this is the course's 50th year. Marv the owner is a relaxed and pleasant person. I bought my 1st clubs there 31 years ago and Marv fitted me for the clubs, which I had for many years. It was a pleasure playing the course as I moved further away many years ago and I decided to return despite the drive as I always enjoyed the course. I am sure you will say the same, so pay Marv a visit and enjoy the quiet electric carts and relaxing course.
Nice course
Nice layout, challenging enough depending on what tees you play. Course was in very nice condition with fast greens.
Nice local course
this Golf club has been in my regular rotation for thirty years. It is not the most difficult track but it does have some challenges. The course is in great shape.
Great Course
Had a great time out here! Will come again, and hopefully not get stuck behind the terrible twosome that slowed 4 groups to one tee box!
I'm a senior so it plays well for me
I golf this course at least 20 times a year. It's only 20 minutes from my house plus last minute golf makes it pretty convienent
Nice local public course
I have played this course for over 30 years. It's not to challenging and even fairly easy if once you have played a few times and know what to avoid. Like many courses in the area they have lost hundreds of trees in the last decade but they are replacing those trees at a decent pace.
My Favorate Course
Sherwood is a challenging yet forgiving course. Staff is attentive and friendly. Pro-shop is fully stocked.
Great driving range, full bar. Course is in great shape. Big greens, good obtainable distance.
Carl is the man. Excellent instructor.
