The Hills are Alive!
Nice course with lots of hills. It's pretty wide open for the most part, but be ready to be hitting the ball on side hills. The greens had been aerated and sanded so it is difficult to comment on whether the greens were fast or ran true. Nice course....staff in the clubhouse was not overly friendly...he wasn't rude....just not real friendly. I'm told they have very good restaurant, but it wasn't open when I was there.
Nice course, pro shop unfriendly.
The first impression was of a less than friendly pro shop staff that seemed to be put out to check me in, sell range balls and later sell drinks. Never said a friendly word. Part of this seemed to be due to using golfnow. Very odd. The course was nice. I like the rolling hills. Greens were fast and had breaks. Rolled true though. I enjoyed the course, but not sure if I will make the 45 minute drive again because of the proshop man that was there. Too many nice courses around to put up with that.
Fun Course, well maintained
The front nine and back nine are completely different. Each of them fun in their own right. I will definitely play again!
Worth the stop
Very nice course.
Front 9 is older, tree lined & narrower fairways. A good challenge.
Back nine is newer & more open. Each hole is a new scene. Very nice
This course is very nice to play
the weather couldnt be any better to play in sunny
Don't make a mistake
The course was in very good shape. The only issue I had was with how thick the grass was just off the fairway. Some places it was so tall that I knew it was right off the fir way and I never found it. Most places it was so thick and gnarled it grabbed my club and made a tough approach shot almost impossible. I usually shoot mid to upper 80s and I shot a 95 on this course. Would be very playable if the grass wasn't so thick.
Really cool golf course with 2 very different 9's
Played mid week with 11:00 am tee time. The course was is GREAT shape, and was a great deal using golf now hot deal tee time.
The front 9 is a the original 9 hole layout. It is challenging in that it has some hills and small greens on most holes (which was common back when this course was opened).
The back 9 is the newest 9 holes and it has several very nice houses (that are not at all in play). It also has some elevation changes but has much more generous fairways and much larger greens.
It has been 5 years since I have played the course and they now have a new club house with what appeared to be a very nice casual dining restaurant attached.
Overall one of the best values in the area.
Would play there again in a heartbeat.
Course was wonderful, play was sslloowwww!
The course was excellent but also very congested and play was excruciatingly slow. It appeared that the tee times were overbooked.

Back to back rounds
Shot 18 holes back to back days with never shooting this course. First day I paired up with a member, gave great advise, greens are rolling, 81.
Second day, learned from the day before and shot 78, but putted worse. Rough is easy to hit out of. Greens are big but hilly.
Decent Course; Need to educate their regulars on etiquette
Decent course in good condition. Pace of play may not be a concern if you have a foursome but I twice encountered fivesomes & no ranger on the course. First time playing there are a few blind shots and the groups ahead don't let you know when they're out of the way.

Big rolling greens
Do all your scoring on the fairway and approach shot. Greens are big. fairways are wide, rough is very playable.
Elevated, unlevel greens.
Great course.
nice layout. good greens.
fun design. i practically raised my son on the old beacon hills course which is basically the front side. the new back side is great with hills and turns that keep things fun without being excessively difficult. great greens as well. front has been updated to the quality of the back. overall one of my favorite courses in Indiana.
Beautiful Golf
Just a beautiful course with lots of hills! First time we played this course and we loved it! Great course at a great price. Best one so far near La Porte.
Great course
Went when they were air raiding the greens, but course was still in great condition. We never saw the food/beer cart one time. Overall I was satisfied with my experience
great laid back round in the country
LH from start to finish was excellent. very accommodating pro shop: allowed us to turn a scheduled 3some into a foursome then into a threesome and 2some without question. No pressure to tee off at the minute yet a ranger was present on occasion to insure all was well on the course. Course was in great shape despite just aerated greens. range was also avail and in good shape. Quiet round through the homes between the older front 9 and newer back. challenging layouts kept it entertaining. 5s appeared to be easy to score on, yet bogeys still ruled the day for us 85-97 scorers. definitely going back
Great course for the money
Wonderful golf course, great value. Very nice practice facility. Course was nicely maintained.
Two vastly different 9's
Nice course, in good shape, front nine a more traditional "elks club" style, and a new back nine. Nice practice facility and pro shop, great deal on golf now.
legAcy Hills la porte
good price for the money short but challenging....had fun with 15 other friends on the course......would highly recommend for the price
Course / facilities top notch.
The course is in great shape. Staff is awesome. Driving range available as well as restaurant on site. Cart on course with refreshments and clubhouse had snacks/drinks.
Excellent course
First time playing this course. Great deal with golf now . Will be back
