About
One half of Sugar Ridge Golf Club is situated in extreme southwestern Ohio while the other half winds up into the Indiana hills. The border location may be unconventional but the setting provides a dramatic backdrop. The course sprawls across rolling hills that are abundant with wildlife. Wild turkey and deer have been known to roam the golf course. The layout has a few parallel fairways though the trees, and hills give each hole a completely secluded feel. The back nine feels more open than the front, but that may only be because of the ponds and lakes that come into play on many of the holes. Throughout Sugar Ridge Golf Club, golfers will find that the par 3s are fairly straightforward and the par 5s have sloping, uphill fairways that make them feel even longer. There are a few memorable par 4s, notable for both their scenery and level of difficulty.

Everything great..Except
I have played many times at this course and I love it! The layout is beautiful and the greens are always in great shape. The only complaint I have is the laziness, and apologies for lack of better words, regarding the club house food situation. Every time I go, or bring friends, I end up being angry and embarrassed due to the lack of food offered. How hard is it to throw a couple of hotdogs on the rollers in the morning and just have them ready at the turn? It's a shame because everything else is wonderful at Sugar Ridge.

A Sleeper, a Must and an additional to my Favorite list!!!
Although on this particular day, pace pf play was held up, due to earlier weather, this course is a sleeper and is a great test of your game, has friendly staff, great views and provides risk/reward challenges on several holes! If you are worried about the ride, dont be, the course is well worth it. Holes 1 and 2 seem to be designed to get you started, then 4,5, 6 and 7 will challenge you and like most, 9 is a blind shot with plebty of trouble; love this course!!!

Overcrowded
I have played at this course four or five times and the course has been overbooked every time. There have regularly been 8+ carts waiting on the first tee box. I do not recommend this course unless you are willing to wait 45 minutes or more on the first tee box.

Pleasant surprise
Course was in great shape. Fairways and greens were in great shape. I like how the holes were laid out between the par 3, 4, and 5s. Very challenging on some holes but yet some were easy to play. Holes didn’t feel crowded or on top of each other. Also helps that I played the round off my life (79) I liked the outside bar/grille when we made the turn. Even though the ground was hilly, i didn’t notice many terrible lies to hit from, i liked this course and will play again.

Rough very deep
layout of course was challenging. several holes you had to have a good tee shot to avoid trouble because an average shot wasn't good enough. must have lost about 6 balls. pared 6 holes, but still had a high score

Good day at Sugar Ridge
Course was in good shape except for the rough which was way too high but understandable with the amount of rain it got the past week. Greens were fast and true …. Stay below the hole or u gonna have multiple 3 putts. Staff was friendly and the pace was good . Have been there before when the pace was very slow but not today.

First experience
The course is beautiful, challenging and unexpected. Club down based on elevation changes. The grass is super tall. If not on fairways will take you longer than expected to find ball even if it rolls off. Other than grass height great course. Probably better to play in late summer early fall.
