Good deal
Booked tee time the day before, staff was very friendly and allowed me to tee off before my time to get me ahead of a foursome. Caught up with another single, we played a few holes but he ad to leave after 9. Finished the last nine alone but was an enjoyable time. After the round sat and had a few beers (very reasonable prices) with other golfers that had finished. A pleasant day, look forward to playing there again.
Great shape
The course is in great shape. However the pace of play is very slow. Mainly because there are beginner players out there and are hacking balls all over the place. I can understand though. It is Friday , nice and much better than work. I play woodland several times a year. Don't cut the corner on hole 3. Play it up.
So don't care
Nice course. Staff could care less if you are there or not. Want this course to be fantastic
Course is short
Play was very slow,no one there to address the flow of the groups. It took way to long to play 18.
Back nine a real challenge
Course is in good shape considering the drought Iowa is in at this time. Told the manager my name, he look at the computer, handed us two keys for carts and said we could start as soon as we were ready. When we turned the corner to start the back nine, he made sure we didn't have anyone in front of us. Great place to play and great staff.
Balanced easy and challenging holes
I played with my 9 year old son the course is very nice and well maintained, we will be back
Short and fun
The course is in good shape for $29. The only complaint is that our first 9 holes too 3 hours. It was a Saturday, but it was slow. They were helpful inside and gave us a rain check for the second 9.
Smaller greens make course challenging.
Fun little course to play. Very open layout so you can't get in much trouble off of the tee. Course is relatively short, but the small greens make it challenging to score. Course was in good shape in early May and I'll play here again.
small greens . but nice course for money
nice small course, a little close on some of the fareways, was busy but started on time.
Nice course. Great staff
It was well worth the drive down from Minneapolis to play(get out of the snow). If in the area, I'd definitely play there again!!!
Not a bad course.
It is a municipal course between Ankeny and Des Moines. Because of the drought this year the grass in the rough is very sparse. The greens were in pretty good shape, as was the fairways. The course has several blind tee shots and that makes it hard to judge what club to use off the tee. Other than that not a bad course.
