Good long course, but always windy
Great public course. Has some really tough water carries, a couple for long Par 3's and one on your drive. When the wind picks up, which it is always windy in Olathe, makes for challenging shots. Course was in OK condition, but that is only because it is very early in the season. Greens were decent even though they were just aerated. A fun course with elevation changes and great to practice your wind play. Rough is tough, so bring plenty of extra balls as it is very easy to lose a ball just off the fairway.
Lack of water
Nice course but there was no cold water jugs on the course. They had just 2 water fountains, 1 on each 9, but it was like tap water. Golfers need water on the course.
Good course for low price
Long for women....rough is tough...not many traps, grass hazards everywhere. Greens in good condition but a bit slow. Excellent staff and rangers are good at their jobs. Not much on clubhouse but dogs, soft drinks and beer.
Overall a very good value.
Nice Course for Cheap
Booked this course through a Hot Deal tee time as through Golf Now as I always do, and I must say, it was a good choice. The course itself was in good shape for it being spring time still. There are some really fun, challenging par 3's on the front nine with the correct pin placements. Overall it's a good course for the value. Greens weren't amazing but nothing to complain about at the pricepoint. My one complaint about this place is the check in process. The old guys who took care of me were very nice but GOODNESS they were slow as molasses. It was very odd to see how inefficient they were at checking people in. My advice to you is to be early for your tee time. Other than that it was a joy to play. I shot a great score and watched a random guy I played with snap his 7 iron over a 150 yard marker. Still laughing about that...
Father's Day
This is the second time I have played Heritage in just under a month using the Hot Deal, for $18 this is the best deal in the KC metro. Greens are the highlight of this course, they are running very true and decent speed. For the small amount of rain we have received this spring the course is still very green, tee boxes in great shape and the rough is very thick. I recommend you bring 5-10 extra golf balls with you because of how deep the rough is. I had 3 tee shots that landed just off the fairway and it took me a couple minutes to track the ball down in the rough. The round took just under four hours and the pace of play was never an issue. A hidden gem in Olathe that is worth the drive.
Good not great.
Having family in olathe I visit the area from Houston periodically and make it a tradition to play this course. Course was in good shape but play was slow (in their defense i was warned). Still fun to play and is user friendly. Front tees are great for beginners and wife's to play with. I got the tee time for $15 each. Worth the cost for that round.
Decent local course if you catch a deal
Check in process is lengthy, i believe they are still using stone and chisel to process transactions which is very frustrating. Make sure to show up extra early to account for this, yes its that long and that big of a deal.
other than that, if you can get a deal on the tee time, its a pretty nice place. usually always windy due to location and there are some tough par 3's that will challenge you.
The course has changed by extending the lengths at the tee box. The course played longer but allowed for open shots and forgiving fairways. It a tough course and challenging. I would go again.
This course had nice greens and fairways.
I enjoyed this course a lot. It’s a long course. Got lots of walking in even playing in cart.
best course, manicured green , wide spaces challenging fairways and not too crowded
great value
Heritage Park is a very good public course. It is in good shape considering how much rain we have got this summer. I choose to play there often because of its location, price and course conditions. Staff is always friendly and ready to help. I love the long par threes as a challenge just to get over the water. One was playing over 200 yards yesterday. Thanks Heritage!
Overall Good Experience!
There were more player assistants than players. Everytime we turned around, they were there. The pace of play was not too slow, it took longer as it was car path only that day. The course management should tell those player assistants to stay at away from players unless the players are doing something wrong. It felt like we were being harassed.
