Great Value
It's nice not to have to pay above $25 for a round of golf. Here at Doe Valley, the GN rates are the best in Kentuckiana using their hot times. The course does has its condition problems especially in the shaded areas along the tree lines. Some of the greens have bad areas and this course always needs mowing. Bunkers need help along with the carts and paths. Overall a 3.8 but gets a 5.0 for the price we paid.
Getting Better
Over the past year, this course is definetly improving. The tees, fairways and greens needed cutting but very playable considering the lack of mainteance. You can see where the thickness of the fairways is the main change. In the past it was always splotchy with clumps of grass, bare spots and weeds. The carts are used and had no gps. Some of the cart paths are rough in areas. The greens were slow and a few bad areas on several holes but really didn't affect play too much. Bunkers though compacted played decent. I would rank Doe Valley a solid 4 for the value (5 with GN), layout, wildlife and friendly customer service. Lindsey, Heartland and Lincoln Trail are all about the same in ranking for this area. Definetly will play again.
Not Bad for the Price
Greens are healing from aeration about a month ago. They were a little bumpy, hairy and slow but puttable. The fairways were OK and patchy in areas, with hardpan stumps and bumps rough with slopes that can easily send your ball rolling into deeper unfindable trouble. This is a tight wooded course that when in decent condition is worth a play. With GolfNow this track is definetly one of the best values in the area along with Lindsey at Fort Knox. Lots of deer, and wild turkey spotted on the property.
Closed
We booked at tee time online and it let us pay online we got there and they where closed we even paid for a golf cart. Initially if ur closed don’t make tee times available online, wasted $44 and 30min drive
The course was in better shape than most I’ve played this summer. The young blonde lady at the desk was super nice and friendly. The new clubhouse is very nice as well!
