Golfer Reviews
First time player
The course was in good shape and had enough trouble to keep you on your toes
I would said they need a MARSHALL, A foursome was hole hopping wish I did not like.
The staff was very uhh understanding and was willing to assist
An average day
I haven't played this course in 5 years. It wasn't a course that really stood out for me, but I had a Hot Deal and thought I would give it a try. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Greens were fast and firm. I was somewhat dissapointed with the rest of course maintenance. There were many tree limbs, mostly in the roughs laying around. Cart paths were in disrepair with pot holes, parts were missing and replaced with gravel. It just gave an impression that course maintenance didn't have high priority. I wouldn't pay regular green fees to play. Maybe another Hot Deal, but there are other courses in the area much more appealing.
Nice course, great day
This course is my favorite near Annapolis. Well laid-out , only one par 5 hole, and well-maintained. Relatively wide fairways but lots of adjacent trees to provide an in-bounds challenge. Nice day (~70 and sunny). Friendly staff. Good value for the money.
Good value, fun course
Bay Hills is a fun yet challenging course. Hills and some narrow fairways mean accuracy off the tee is crucial. But even if you miss a fairway you typically still have a shot and not a lost ball. Fairways are in good shape this time of year even with dormant turf. Greens roll true and a little faster than many public courses. The back 9 plays a little longer than the front. Staff is always friendly and accommodating.
Very nice course. Challenging for every hcp level.
It´s a well mainteined course. good fairways, rough and greens are fast and hilly. Played front 9 and the non Championship ones because at the back 9 were working on every green from the botom. Something happened to them... I´ll be back surelly.
Respect for the Game of GOLF
I get a mixed message from any golf course which allows a player to wear "JEANS". My question is WHY?
Plan to play again
This time of the year I was pleased with the course. This was the first time I played the course. I played with Bob, whom is plays the course regularly. His advice with the course played dividends for me. I will play it again in the spring.
The greens were true to role.
Bay Hills
Good value for the Golfnow price.
Worth the money
It's nice to try different courses and that was the idea this past weekend. Given the large amount of rain on Friday/Saturday, the course was in surprisingly good shape. The greens were awfully slow though as I'm sure they were unable to cut/roll. Nice course and layout, but I do prefer more than 1 par 5 and 3 par 3's.
Staff
The course layout is ok and the course conditions were ok. I was a member here in the past so I knew what to expect as far as course. The staff on the other hand. No ranger enforcing the rate of play, it took us almost 5 hours to finish our round. The beer cart quit after 12:30! When I asked the bartender inside why the beer cart wasn't seen for the whole day she got an attitude and said it was too slow. For it being the first sunday of NFL season it was not that slow, there was probably at least a group on each hole. As far as I am concerned if I'm paying $50 a round that cart should be on the course even if I'm the only one there.
nice course in good condition at the end of a long hot summer
Bay Hills is an enjoyable course to play. Lots of hills and some water provide a challenge for most of us.
Decent pace of play despite being fairly crowded.
Short Course, Felt Unwelcomed
This course measures only 6400yards from the tees and boasts different tee boxes. But the distances are only 5yards in front of the next tee box, so much for variety. This course is an awkward one, landing areas for a drive are usually a hazard or rough. Laying up with an iron leaves you a long iron in as well. Unless you can bomb a drive, don't even bother bringing your driver. A lot of locals and members play here, as a first timer, didn't feel so welcomed by them, an outsider and why was I here playing at "their course". For the price, it wasn't worth the drive or the money, I can find a better deal closer to home with a better layout.
Staff wasn't too friendly
The staff didn't seem to friendly to "out of towners". We had a walk on join us and it was a beautiful course. Pace was slowed on the back nine.
Hot day. Good round.
The heat index was over 100. The course staff reminded to drink water, which was readily availabile, and use the shade, also available. I have now played this course a half dozen times and I find it antagoningly delightful. Well placed shots are rewarded and loose ones oftentimes led to disaster. I feel challenged and will be back.
Course review
First time playing there. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They did manage to upsell me on their additional rounds offer. I figured it was worth the price if I play 2-3 times more. Played with a very nice older gentleman who made the experience enjoyable. We both hit some good and bad shots; but enjoyed the round. Course is challenging, but fair.
Good course with great elevation changes.
Overall the course was in great shape, minus the cart paths. Only one Par 5 though so not many opportunities to make up strokes. Staff were very nice and accommodating.
7/4
Great day of golf. A bit of rain on the back 9 Course conditions were excellent
Tee Times were overbooked
Upon arriving we were pleased with how friendly the staff was and they quickly got us set up and ready to go. All just so we could wait. The course was horribly overbooked and we had 3 foursomes waiting on the same tee box. Whenever a course is that greedy and I have to wait that long I will not go back. It was a 5 1/2 hour round of golf.
