Not What it used to be!
First off, the positive reviews are clearly fake if they are from this year. Don't bother to listen to them as it is clearly ownership trying to get people in. I know they are being bought out soon so look forward to next season!
I am a local that has played this course many times. Over the years you can tell that the course has flat gone downhill. It used to be one of the very best in the entire state! The fairways are so high you lose your balls even on good drives down the middle. Bunkers may as well be concrete. They also have been known to have ground hornets swarming them. The greens themselves are full of dead spots and rocky areas that it is next to impossible to putt. The staff are friendly for the short time you see them. The course layout is built to be a blast and challenging! However, the conditions just kill the value! Carts are also from the stone age and can barely get started. Look down the road to Laurel Oaks if you are looking in Maysville. At the very least they are worth what you spend!
Needs attention
Course had not been mowed in awhile and couldn't find balls in the high clover. Noticed it was for sale which could be reason for neglect in upkeep
Sad at Best
Played Monday with my league and to say it’s pitiful is an understatement. Greens had no grass, fairways overgrown along with everything else, and nothing picked up. Almost 1/2 the holes didn’t have flags and the cups were overgrown. Idk who BLo12 is but he/she hit the nail on the head. Anyone saying otherwise just has blinders on. Our league is done out here.
The Course Is Beautiful
The owner of this course has done a tremendous job of getting this course in beautiful shape. I see where there has been some negative reviews and I can attest.. this is not a fake account and I have been a member for years! This course was taken over by the new owner December of 2023. The course was in rough shape then. On top of that we had a drought this Summer. I am sure everyone can attest to their own yards looking pretty brown! The course hadn’t been aerated in years. I am uploading pictures I took to show you how nice it really is. I’m not sure why Blo12 has his panties in a pucker, but I encourage you to come and see for yourself!
Please Disregard any positive Reviews they’re fake
Making this review to inform everyone that the owner has made multiples fake accounts to try and lure people to play this disastrous course. I am a prior Assistant Head Pro from Lexington area. Any positive reviews after 1/1/2024 are fake.
Not good
Pictures will say it all. Also the summer was no worse than any other summer.
Great Course!
Thoroughly impressed! Traveled in from Cincinnati to play this course. The course is beautiful with some fantastic scenic views.. The layout offers a great mix of holes that test both strategy and skill. Great value. Highly recommend it and looking forward to my next round.
Great Course and Staff!
The staff was outstanding! This was my first time playing this course, and I am a beginning golfer. Everyone was friendly and kind, the course was well maintained and beautiful, and I played a great round of golf!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Oak Ridge, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, the level of care and attention from the staff made me feel welcomed and appreciated.
The course itself is impeccably maintained, with lush, manicured fairways and greens that roll true. The layout is challenging yet accessible, offering something for golfers of all skill levels. The course was also easy to navigate, with well-maintained paths, making for an enjoyable and stress-free game.
After the game, the clubhouse provided the perfect retreat. The facility is top-notch, combining elegance with comfort. Dining was a highlight, with a menu that catered to every palate.
Throughout the day, the staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly. The starter provided insightful tips on how to approach certain holes, and the restaurant team ensured our dining experience was flawless.
Overall, Oak Ridge delivers an unparalleled experience for both avid golfers and those looking for a relaxing day out. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for exceptional golf and hospitality.
Great Course
This course is really fun. It’s great to play with friends if you’re looking for a challenge. The staff are awesome! They are very nice and welcoming.
Beautiful Course
This is the first time I have played at this course. It is beautiful and well manicured. Staff were accommodating and friendly! I highly recommend this course! I will be back!
Oak Ridge
Beautiful course. Has a great time, friendly staff and great meal.
Enjoyed Oak Ridge
I was hesitant to play when I saw the reviews so I had to jump on here to share my experience. The course was great and we had a wonderful time. There was a terrible drought this summer and affected all the local courses. I didn’t experience any of the negative things I saw in a few of the comments. Course was very well maintained. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking to play. They also have tennis courts. Pool was closed for the season but looked really nice.
Great Course
In from Florida. Great 18 hole course. Well maintained. Owner said they had a drought this summer but I was impressed.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful course. Friendly staff. We will be back.
Hot Garbage
Before the new owner bought this place it was one of the nicest tracks in town. Now it looks like they forgot what basic maintenance and chemical applications look like. Save your money this place will be a housing development soon or hopefully he will go bankrupt and have a competent owner in the near future.
Shouldn't have paid to play here.
Greens so bad you can't putt. Fairways were not cut. Tee boxes were not cut. Horrible experience. Should be closed until in better condition.
Terrible conditions
Half of the greens are in really bad shape, bunkers are not raked, tees are uncut and last time I played, couldn’t find ball in fairway.
Crab grass growing in all fairways , even the Zoysia ones.
Worst course
Shouldn't be open taking people's money with a course in that condition. Unplayable greens, uncut Fairways, uncut tee boxes. Just dad to see this place is the shape it's in.
Horrible experience
Now it's been years since I've played this course and when I did 10 or so years ago it was in great shape. But now, it should be closed until they can get things in actual playing condition. Greens were like shag carpet, and had huge areas that were just sand. You couldn't putt, the Fairways were so tall you'll lose a ball in it, tee boxes were the same, didn't even look like you were using a tee when teeing of the grass was so tall.
