Cold but fun day
Everything was great at Glen Oaks. Only issue we had was the staff had never seen this deal before and couldn't ring up properly which caused a line to grow in clubhouse. Never did get the deal right and paid a little more than I was supposed to. That being said, it didn't take away from the great time we had. Staff was great and course was in good shape given this early in season.
Great course
Pace of play was pretty slow, some people need to playing shorter tees, you shouldn't need a driver and 3 wood on a short par 4
Very Good Private Course
Course allows some public access and is worth the effort to play. About half or a little more of the holes had been renovated by Tim Liddy and these holes stand out above the rest.
The course has several signature holes that are set around the valleys and hilly terrain. Worth the effort to play.
Do not waste your time
Before you read this, obviously all reviews are simply an opinion and I’m sure some folks call this place home…that being said I’m a PGA professional who’s played thousands of golf rounds at courses all around the US. GlenOaks is a great layout, but the course is for lack of better term, in awful shape. Not one positive can be said about the condition of this golf course. Don’t waste your time. Plenty of great public tracks and CC’s in the Louisville area that don’t charge a premium rate for awful conditions. Don’t see this course lasting beyond another few years at this rate.
Challenging course, but worth playing.
Lovely well-maintained course with a friendly staff and a nice café/pub.
The course was quite hilly and the first five holes were tough.
I recommend it highly, but definitely take a cart.
Great Course but could use a starter
This course is always fun to play and usually in great shape with quick greens that roll pretty true. Lots of subtle break. However, they need to invest in having a starter and a few rangers monitoring pace of play. Todays round took 5hrs and 30mins to play, with multiple unpaired twosomes and several singles mixed in a pretty busy schedule. Stuck behind a foursome who obviously didn’t realize anyone else was on the course and would hit multiple balls and putt 3 or 4 times from each spot. There was a group in between us or I might have been tempted to break them up with a few well placed shots of my own. Still better than working but at 5.5 hours it gets close to the same level of frustration.
Great course
Had a great day playing here. Loved the layout and variety of the course, with opportunities to grip it and rip it, and also more technical sections that require careful shot selection. Definitely plan on checking out their membership packages!
GlenOaks Country Club
We booked our round through the GolfNow app and realized at the course they have a much better deal.. they offer a limited number of $29 rounds per year for seniors that include lunch and a beer!
The course was awesome for the middle of February.. staff was very friendly and the lunch would have normally cost over $15… our group will definitely be back and two were talking about joining the club.
I would highly recommend this course .. greens were tough but fair and most holes had lots of elevation changes and water hazards of one kind or another. You know it’s a great course when you get done and can’t wait to play it again!
Very nice layout
Very nice layout but course conditions due to the weather were tough.
Greens were very nice for Dec 31!
Glen Oaks
Very nice course. Through a neighborhood so some fairways tight. Did some aeration to course but overall a very good time. Will definitely play this course again.
Better than last time
First round, I found plenty of trouble. Not the best course to use driver on many of the holes, so its more of a placement test than a strength test as it's generally a short but guarded course. Greens aren't great but much better than the first time. Included lunch is a nice touch
Early Saturday Golf
I got the “Member for a Day Deal”. Round of golf, lunch and a Beer. Not a bad deal when you add it all up. Course looked and played great. Had about an hour rain delay to start, but after that it was clear and sunny. Pace of play was great. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were hit and miss on the condition. But still playable. Overall a great experience.
