Great Layout and Tee box options
I really like the layout of most of the holes and the different tee boxes allow for various skill sets.
Walking is rewarding but can be tough with a lot of uphill climbs.
Awesome course!

Over priced!
The greens must of been recently aerated so there was a ton of sand on the greens and a lot of debris.
Sprinklers running on numerous holes
Pace was slow. Nice day so likely a full card. Sprinkler's came on during back nine and could not navigate to shots in the fairway. Slowed play. Groundskeeper was not on it
Coarse Conditions were terrible, to wet to play fairways were to long , guess not able to cut because to wet
Super muddy with bad drainage.
Fairway was in rough condition, roughs were not taken care of, and the drainage of water is just awful in general at Timbers. Super muddy everywhere when it wasn’t even raining and overpriced for what it’s worth.
Poor pace of play and worse conditions
Played Saturday late morning after completing 18 at a sister course and doing ND course to be in very poor shape with greens often having diseased and tee boxes were beaten up. Round took over five hours and never saw a Marshall out to keep the pace of play moving way over priced for the shape of the course. Greenskeeper should be embarrassed
hadn't played this course in a while
I forgot how tight the fairways are. Friont was not as in as good shpae as the back 9. Several blind tee shots and approaches.
Thought it was expensive compared to say Cahlledon.
Not sure I would recommend it given the choices in area. Challedon or Waverly for a few $$ more.
Electric carts with Coolers
The course was in amazing condition with minor pitch marks on greens. White Sand in every bunker. Busy day but pace of play was moderate. Decently priced for an 11 am tee time. I loved the carts with coolers attached, perfect for the summer!
First time I played this golf course. First of all, staff was very friendly and helpful. The course and scenery were awesome. Will definitely be back.
What an overpriced waste
My wife and I have lived in Elkridge for 18 years, and have always played and enjoyed Timbers, particularly for its location so close by. However, today was the straw that broke the camel's back for us, we won't be going back. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt when they switched to 'dynamic pricing', but what we paid today for the conditions was abhorrent. Severely bare tee boxes, large bare spots on fairways, weeds in bunkers as another reviewer mentioned, bare spots on greens, and the crazy 'carts in rough only' rule... Absolutely muni like, and paid more than if we had hoofed it almost an hour up to Maryland National for what I know would have been far superior conditions! No more, as another reviewer stated until we hear of some drastic improvements, we will go elsewhere gladly even though it's only 6 minutes from our house...
Going down hill fast
I have played Timbers for many years happily with no issues. Since the start of 2024, I’ve tried to give the course chances but it is miserable round each time. Pace of play issues, course conditions are horrendous from tee to green everything is completely destroyed. Avoid at all cost unless you’re paying under $35 with cart. Anything over that price - go to any of the other nice courses nearby for 10x better experience
