hadn't played this course in a while
I forgot how tight the fairways are. Friont was not as in as good shpae as the back 9. Several blind tee shots and approaches.
Thought it was expensive compared to say Cahlledon.
Not sure I would recommend it given the choices in area. Challedon or Waverly for a few $$ more.
Electric carts with Coolers
The course was in amazing condition with minor pitch marks on greens. White Sand in every bunker. Busy day but pace of play was moderate. Decently priced for an 11 am tee time. I loved the carts with coolers attached, perfect for the summer!
First time I played this golf course. First of all, staff was very friendly and helpful. The course and scenery were awesome. Will definitely be back.
What an overpriced waste
My wife and I have lived in Elkridge for 18 years, and have always played and enjoyed Timbers, particularly for its location so close by. However, today was the straw that broke the camel's back for us, we won't be going back. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt when they switched to 'dynamic pricing', but what we paid today for the conditions was abhorrent. Severely bare tee boxes, large bare spots on fairways, weeds in bunkers as another reviewer mentioned, bare spots on greens, and the crazy 'carts in rough only' rule... Absolutely muni like, and paid more than if we had hoofed it almost an hour up to Maryland National for what I know would have been far superior conditions! No more, as another reviewer stated until we hear of some drastic improvements, we will go elsewhere gladly even though it's only 6 minutes from our house...
Going down hill fast
I have played Timbers for many years happily with no issues. Since the start of 2024, I’ve tried to give the course chances but it is miserable round each time. Pace of play issues, course conditions are horrendous from tee to green everything is completely destroyed. Avoid at all cost unless you’re paying under $35 with cart. Anything over that price - go to any of the other nice courses nearby for 10x better experience
Wasted Potential
I've been playing this course for years due to it's convenient location, but this will be the last round I play there unless i hear significant improvements have been made. I love the layout of the course, but was appalled by the state of the tee boxes, fairways, greens, and bunkers. There is a very clear and substantial problem with the maintenance of this course. It's being mowed regularly, but thats about it. Bare patches, over growth, weeds in the bunkers, unaddressed divots, etc were features on every hole. NO earthly clue what my $93.00 to play this course is going towards.
Terrible… again
This is the third time I’ve left the course earlier due to pace of play. There was a Marshall out making his rounds and he was trying… it seemed. But strolled up to a par 4 where there was a group on the tee box, a group waiting and then a group in the fairway. It was almost 4 hours and this was on hole 13… I refuse to play this course until maybe fall. Reduce the price if the pace a play isn’t ever going to change.
OKTime
Course was OK. Never experienced carts restricted to the rough. Different. Also could use more bathrooms.
10 holes in 3 hours. good course, not for the price
Not a marshal in sight the whole time. The course is not not awful, but the tee box & green conditions could be a lot better. The location & access to this course from I-95 is its best perk. Its scenery is nice, but coming with high expectations ruins Timbers for me every time. I figured 5 PM on a 97 degree day would be empty. There weren't may cars in the lot. How was it still so slow? Started at 5:10 PM and only got through 10 holes by 8 PM.
