Very Nice Course Near the Berkshires
The staff and members could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The course is very well designed and maintained. Some especially challenging holes and quite a few enjoyable ones. Not necessarily worth a special trip to Dalton to play, but if you are in the area and can pick up a GolfNow special it is well worth the time.
awesome course
awesome course, staff was friendly course was in great shape relatively challenging
Excellent choice
Picked it up as a hot deal and though the reviews were solid one never knows. Turns out it was an excellent mountain course. Exceptionally well maintained (tough when the course is carved out of the hills) with expected elevation changes, woods, doglegs and a little water.Very enjoyable round.
I died and went to golf heaven.
Pro shop friendly manager. Made us feel like we were family. The course first hole spectacular down hill par 4.then get ready for some fun.All holes are different. The playing conditions over the top. dog legs,up hill, down hill fair bunkering.Greens faster than most.Fairways wide rough fair. Many many challenging shots. You will remember many holes not just one or two.Don't forget check out the plaque behind hole 9.The club house over looks the 18th green. The food and drink are a bargain.I'm going back again and again worth the drive.
Great place to play in the Berkshires
The course was in good shape and the foliage in the surrounding hills was near peak so the colors were lovely. We did get a little rain so the course was not crowded and we felt like we were playing by ourselves.
The carts are electric so very quiet and we had no problems on the course. Some of the holes are challenging with lots of sand traps.
Great place to play in the Berkshires. Will play there again.
Great Course
Course was in outstanding condition. Tees, fairways, greens and traps were well cared for and well conditioned. Did not have a bad lie anywhere on the course. The only reason 4 stars were given was because course had no direction or hole markings. There was no legend on the card to know direction of holes. Club house also had NO FOOD OF ANY TYPE, not even a package of crackers! People were very friendly and rather apologetic about no food. Would definitely play again if in the area again.
Awesome course
This course was everything everyone said it was. It was worth the drive up. Challenging greens, manicured fairways, and friendly people.
Great experience in The Berkshires
Drove 90 miles one way to try the course that had received numerous good reviews
on GOLFNOW. I found the course lived up to its reviews in every way, Can't wait to play this course again.
Great Berkshire Course
This is among if not the best conditioned course in Berkshire County. It was an extreme delight to play. Also has forward tees for those that need the distance help.
Nice course but poor Tee marking, and red tees
I played with my wife, and we really enjoyed the course, value, and conditions of the course.
However, had we not had a GPS, there would have been the potential for teeing off on a wrong hole after finishing another.
Also, the Gold tees were quite lengthy for a woman, while the Red tees were very hard to locate---and too SHORT.
one of my favorites
it's about an hour and half trip, but I take the back roads and this time of year the vistas are great. I rode (because of the deal), but the course is not a hard walk. The holes are near each other (I'm not sure I understand how one could get lost), the layout is fair and the greens have a lot of slope. If this course was closer I would consider membership.
Good Course, Great Day
Pleasant course, with interesting layout. Some longer distances than average on 3;s but very visible hazards. Plenty of sand and water but easy to navigate. Mostly wide fairways with easy distance markers both in the course guide and on fairways. Lots of locals walk the course and do it quicker than many I have seen at other courses.
A Safari Club Favorite
Great Track period, well maintained, and a very comfortable 19th hole. Although very expensive, unless you get a Golfnow discount or something similar!
Challenging on every hole.Deceptively tough traps into play, Beautiful scenis mountains. Only course we:ve ever played where the holes are
Challenging on every hole. Pin placements bring sand traps into play. Change in elevations make club selection difficult. Wahconah is the only course we have ever played where the holes are not numbered
Fun Sunday
The course was in great shape. It's long enough for big hitters but has various tee boxes for the average hacker like myself. The staff was very friendly. I had no issues with my Golf Now tee time. Excellent value using Golf Now.
Love this golf course
Great golf course, great layout, great greens awesome views !
A course for every skill level
The course also has Red tees for seniors, which in many cases are set up at the start of the fairways on long holes, which made it a much fairer course for my wife to play. The tees, however, are a bit hard to find on some holes and perhaps could be better marked. In some cases, we stumbled upon them because we didn't see them at first.
Being a senior man, I don't hit the ball very far and was very comfortable playing the gold tees, which made it very enjoyable for me, without overtaxing myself.
The very leisurely 4 hour round was a pleasure to play.
One of the Gems in the Berkshires
Wahconah is well maintained and consistently in great shape.
Nice layout with several elevated tee boxes with nice views. Greens are really nice and quick. Beautiful course with some nice challenges. Fairways are really nice and bunkers are well maintained.
Highly recommend as it is one of the best values in Massachusetts.
Great experience!
Course was great, the price was fair, the staff was friendly, and the pace of play was perfect. I would definitely reccomend this couse!
