Very Enjoyable Outing
Very enjoyable outing, but a 5 1/2 hour round on a Saturday afternoon - good thing the company & weather were great
Crystal Lake
The course has changed since being taken over by Sterling Management. The course has three holes that have changed due to the home development surrounding the course now. The greens were in excellent shape along with the bunkers. The tee boxes were okay. The par three's on the front side are long and require a long iron or hybrid. The course is allows a good walk. It was hot and humid which forced waiting on each tee box. There are mobile homes being used for the pro shop and restaurant until the new building will be designed and constructed. You'll have a pretty good time playing the course. Solid restaurants close by to enjoy.
Great again
Haven't played here for a month but conditions are great.
Same as expected
I’ve played this course two dozen times in the past few years. It’s a very consistent experience. Best piece of advice I’ve gotten from the regulars - don’t land your ball above the hole. This applies to every hole on the course! Straightforward course that makes you use every club in your bag. Always a good time.
Fun time
Crystal lake is a ton of fun. The holes are for the most part pretty short, but the elevation and the hard dog legs on a few holes make you really think of how you should manage your shots. Great course to practice playing smart.
Course is challenging and certainly one you would want to play with an experienced player the first time you play.
Tee boxes and green's were in great shape and like a few have said the faiways were in decent shape.
Try your best to be below the hole as the greens have lots of break and are fast.
I would play again but really want to see how this course looks in the next year or 2 with some more continued TLC and what appears to be some changes with the new houses....
Many times, many times more
I have played here many times and will play here many times again. Nice, easy and quick ride from Burlington. Can't beat the GolfNow rate. Hit the first one a little after 7 and was home by noon. Great greens and the fairways are good as well. Clubhouse guy is great and the course crews are out there doing a great job. Stay below the hole on most of the greens and don't go long. It's a course you can score well on if you keep it in play. Not the type of course that beats you up. Fun place, good place, great place to play.
Glad to come back
I hadn't played the course in a long time due to frankly poor conditions. Last month while looking for a place to play at the last minute there' was an opening at Crystal lake, I am very happy I took it. Since then I played the course three more times the greens are still great run true and are good speed, the fairways are well-maintained and the tea boxes are for the most part well covered with sod.
I always liked the courses layout it offers much challenge but it's fair. I do hope you give it a try if you haven't been there for a while it is certainly a very good course.
The staff is very accommodating and friendly.
Fun layout
Course is in good shape considering how dry it has been. Some spots are burnt out, but overall not bad. The layout is fun and keeps you on your toes, as many wholes have doglegs and blind hazards. Definitely will be coming back for more rounds here in the future.
