Horrible pace of play
If you don’t want to tee off on time or play 18 in less than 6 hours don’t bother. Staff was rude and because of the rain the day prior they booked tee times too close together. Spent more time sitting waiting than playing. Left after a atrocious 9 holes.
1st timer
I started on the back 9 first so didn’t get the normal flow. Course was in good shape but they had just air rated the greens so they didn’t roll normally. Played the back tees and gave you plenty of options to hit whatever you wanted
Fred the Ranger
Fun course with some challenging holes.
Fred the ranger was the coolest
Good layout and conditions
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for an interesting track, with challenging but not too hard conditions. The off course amenities in the trailer were weak and need a major upgrade but the price was right.
Great Course but Lacks Customer Service
Just like the title says, I love the course, the greens are always in excellent shape and despite the rain the course holds up well. My biggest issue is with the staff and the members at the course. Bob the starter and the Greenskeeper are the only people who are friendly. The rest of the staff are real jerks 90% of the time. They've yelled at me, they've yelled at my wife. This golf course gives off the vibes that unless your a 50+ year old man then they don't really want you there. Don't get me started on the members either. They think they own the course (Maybe they should just make it private if that's the case). They're constantly screaming at each other on the porch outside the 18th green. They cut you in line to get drinks at the turn. It's all really unfortunate because I love to play here, and I'm forced to keep coming back because the course is that awesome. Just wish management would encourage their employees act more like Bob and tell their members to quit getting drunk and be respectful to the others trying to play the course.
Nice course
Enjoyed the course layout and friendly staff. Great pace the three times I have played.
Good deal, odd golf course
I played the course for the first time on August 3. I walked. The walk was very easy, but the layout of the course was a bit odd. You could tell that some of the course was altered because of the new 55 and over housing that was built. The course was in relatively good shape, and it was a very good value, but some of the holes were odd to say the least. There are two part threes that are well over 200 yards and a couple of par fives which are barely 400 yards. There are also a few blind shots, and the driver is taken out of your hands on several of the par fours. Finally, the greens were often upside down bowls, making them hard to hit it hard to putt.
Crystal Lake
Perfect weather to play. Played in a threesome behind a foursome so the pace was a little slow; still finished in just under four (4) hours. Course was in pretty good conditions with only a few spots that were still wet and soggy. Greens were in great shape and the course was well maintained.
Too Slow on Weekends
Unbearably slow because they pack people in. Front 9 took 3 hours. Most people were leaving after the front because of the pace so the back picked up a little.
The greens are fast and fun.
I'm never going back on a nice weekend because of the pace of play.
