Glad we didn’t go by previous reviews!
My buddies and I played yesterday morning. We almost cancelled after reading several reviews.
We decided to make our own decision, and we were glad we did! The course was in wonderful condition.
We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it from the conditions to the challenging layout.
We visited the restaurant after our round and everything was perfect!! The woman and her husband run the club house restaurant and everything was great! I did ask about the restaurant restrooms as a previous review had complained. She explained that the restaurant is separate of the club, and has to strictly enforce the COVID-19 guidelines. Which requires the purchase of food item with drinks as it is in any Massachusetts restaurant.
Simply stated, we had a great day and we are looking forward to playing Sandwich Hallows again!!
Very Surprised !
Viewed some poor reviews on line and almost cancelled the round, but went anyway for something new, I don’t understand the reviews , this course was wonderful, the Tee’s had some ware from the summer city foke, the fairways were totally green and well mowed, the greens were in great shape and the lay out of each hole was a challenge, but beautiful. The club house staff and menu was great .This course is a great value !

So Slow
The course is relatively straight forward and is in good condition but really needs someone to help groups pick up the pace of play. It took us 3 hours to play 9. We had no one behind us so we would sometimes double back and still be waiting for the group in front.

huge disappointment
Lady friend with me did not appreciate port-a-potty. Inside rest room requires purchase of drink and food according to pro shop.
Teed off before men's league... three different men approached us to let us know they expected us to keep up a good pace and not slow them down... most drinking beer. No starter in attendance.
Course is in nasty shape. No rough, only dirt. Very little fairway grass. Very slow play. Two twosomes in front of us never paired up. No ranger to pace play. Every trash can was overflowing with beer cans.
In years past, the course was better run in terms of play and maintenance. I do not plan to return.

They don't take single golfers
Well, I live within a few miles of this golf course and I've been playing it for years because it's convenient and close by. . Recently within the last year & a half or so the've been making changes....good & bad. They put work into the course redoing the tee boxes, & more and it's playing much better which. is good. However, for some stupid reason (which is bad) this course does NOT take single golfers anymore on their tee time reservation. I play as a single golfer all the time and most of the times in the past I've played here with single golfers as well . Whoever is in-charge of booking has eliminated SINGLE GOLFERS???? All the other golf courses on Cape cod take single golfers on their tee time reservation so who knows how much money this course is losing because of the stupidity not taking singles. I gave it a one star not because of the course itself but because of the management & not being able to play this course anymore because I"ve been punished for being a single golfer.
Terrible - dont do it
I'm sorry, but this place is a dump. The front nine has an OK layout, but is in terrible shape. The back nine is like a crazy Cape mini golf layout. There is NO Way that a professional golf course designer was involved in its layout....and as expected, the back is in horrid shape. Hard pan dirt with rocks are common. Patchy grass on all Tees....greens were just punched, so they were probably in better shape than normal.

The course did tell me that they aerated the course a week before we played which me and the 7 players were okay with. What we did not know was the course was in horrible shape. It looked like it had not been watered in weeks. Horrible conditions and I have played the course a lot. Very disappointed.

Bad conditions
Bad conditions not a good feeling having good tee shots in fairway and getting horrible lies in fairway due to bad upkeep with course Pinehills doesn’t have these problems was a joke paying 65$ for this round. Long time before I go back to this place not impressed at all.

Over booked. Couldn’t play back nine without notice
Over booked. Couldn’t play back nine without notice. They were aerating the course and only have the front nine open. Had 5 foursomes waiting on deck to tee off at the opening nine and the turn.

Another fun experience
My wife and I played with some friends of ours over the Labor Day weekend. The play as expected was a bit slower than usual but the course was in great condition.
We have always enjoyed the food at the turn but never tried dinner figuring they were geared to serve sandwiches. Because we were tight on time we decided to give dinner a try and we were pleasantly surprised. Delicious entrees, large portions and very reasonably priced. The service was spot on and it made for a really enjoyable dinner. We will definitely now do it more often!
