Fun layout but off the beaten path
The course is in the middle of nowhere and kind of difficult to reach. The place was nearly empty when we got there, so we teed off about 20 minutes before our designated tee time, which was great.
The conditions were solid but quite strange. The closer you got to the greens, the worse the shape the holes were in. Seemed like nearly all of the tee boxes were in excellent shape and it was easy to tee a ball up. Most of the fairways were fine but a few had dead patches and a couple were just mud and dirt (10 and 18 were run down.) But a lot of the greens were pretty beat up. Most looked decent from afar but had unrepaired ball marks everywhere and were not in nearly the top conditions the rest of the course was in, so that was pretty disappointing.
However, the course was a blast to hack it around on. It was challenging with fun hills and scenery. The front nine had a lot more trees and water in the line of play, while the back nine was more open.
We must have started just before the afternoon crowds came because as we made the turn, there were numerous carts lined up and about to start on the first hole. We only saw two groups in front of us during our round but that was it as we breezed through the course without any delays. Another odd thing to us was that the cart paths started but then just stopped and picked up again at some random spot near the greens. It was like that on every hole and created some strange wear patterns in the grass.
Not sure why there are so few reviews of this course. For the price, overall solid conditions and a fun layout, it is a nice place to play.
Great course
This is a fun course that is long and challenging. The course was in great condition when I played and the price was very fair. There are a lot of trees and water is also in play. Many holes are doglegs. This is a must try course!
Great Play
This course is a great value for the buck. It has some very challenging holes and the staff is the best. Sometimes the pace can be slow due to the volume of walkers but the scenery and wildlife is great.
The cheap greens fees will keep you coming
This course is ideal for beginners. Rolling hills and sharp dog legs will challenge even the most skilled golfers. Took my wife and friends out here and had a blast playing 12+ holes at super twilight for $19. If the pace was better, we could have got in all 18.
Fairways may not be pristine, but they aren't patchy as expected. Greens have a lot of slope, so you can still get a quick putt even if they aren't shaved.
Overall, not the greatest course and definitely not bucket list golf, but it was pretty fun to slap it around here.
Also, there was a ton of wild life, if thats something you like in your round. Deer and turkeys everywhere!
