Tee boxes on par 3s were an absolute joke.

No sand in refill bottles or sand boxes on Tee Boxes.

Trash bins overflowing at some holes.

Tee times Every 9 minutes in the evening causing us to not be able to finish round because it got way too backed up.

Had to wait 5-10 minutes on some Tee boxes because of slow play.

Blackthorn -

Used to be the best course i have ever played for the value. Just reccomended it to a friend and he had his bachelor party golf outing there. I played it a few days after and I am embarrassed. greens were diseased and much shaggier than i have ever seen them at this course. Found out that you guys hired the greenskeeper from Whitaker Woods - that was the biggest mistake you could have made. That course is right next to my house and I will never play there again. Terrible value, bad pro shop, bad vibe and course was badly let go over the last 15 years. I play about 75 rounds a year and used to love going 40 minutes to Blackthorn because it was worth it. Now I need to find a new favorite. My advice, get rid of the new greenskeeper and talk the other guy into training someone who can actually do the job your course and employees deserve.

I am not from this area and discovered that most courses here are municipal owned. This course is one of the few that are not, and is one of the best available. Staff was fantastic and the course was beautiful and had plenty of wildlife. The majority of greens were in good condition. It had been raining and the grass was too long in some areas. Cart path only and full schedule resulted in slower play and a lot of walking. I would love to play this course again in dryer conditions.

This course has always been a favorite of mine. Always great condition and value for money. Now it’s $99 for unkempt bunkers, overwatered fairways, divots, weeds, dead fairway grass, bumpy greens and beat up tees. They’ve ripped up multiple tees, presumably for regrassing, but there’s no evidence they’re working on them. They’re just full of weeds.

It’s sad, this course used to be awesome. Meanwhile, Warren at Notre Dame has same price and immaculate conditions. I hated writing this review but hopefully the owners will see this and realize $99 is unsustainable when these are the conditions you’re presenting. I won’t be back until you’ve fixed this situation.

They are more worried about your freakin pace of play vs making sure you take care of the course! 4 sand bottles at the start, all 4 empty!

Maybe worry about that more be those dumb monitors tellin us to hurry up! 4 hour and 29 minute round was more then acceptable play. Would have been quicker had we not had to chase down our digits for 18 holes.

Side note, starter could use a lesson or two on personality!

Always one of my favorite purses to play. I always have been impressed with the green speeds and condition of the course. This time, the green speeds were much slower than what what I have come to expect from Blackthorn. They also were redoing some of the tee boxes on the par 3’s. For $99 I would have expected better.

Very slow they let a twosome and a single go out without pairing them up

It was early in the season so it was just nice to get out. Just wasn’t the most ideal day to play and that was prob why they didn’t have all the stuff up and ready like normal.
