Bedford Valley Course at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort
About
Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort boasts five championship courses, all of which have scenery provided by southwest Michigan's beautiful lake region. The golf course has a convenient location that is easily accessible from Detroit, Toledo, Chicago, Grand Rapids, and Lansing. It is a favorite spot for golfers throughout the Midwest and Great Lakes. Bedford Valley might be the most well known of the five since it has hosted numerous events over the years including the Michigan Open, Michigan Maxfli PGA Junior Championship, and the NCAA III National Championship. The golf course is known locally as "The Big Course." The aptly chosen nickname originates from the layout's massive greens bordered by large, deep bunkers and the fairways that are lined with towering, mature oaks. Golfers appreciate the course's shot values and the challenging but fair test it offers.

Championship style course
This course is always well maintained, is longer than most courses you play, nice large greens. You could walk this course pretty easily even though it is long there are no real hills to walk.
1st time golfing this year
Course was in good shape for not having any warm weather yet. Alot easier to play before the rough grows thick.
Gull lake area
There are better courses for the money then Bedford Valley. Yarrow is much better and the slow play at Bedford is something that needs to be addressed.
Old School
There is a reason Golf Digest gives Bedford a 4.5 star rating. Beautiful rolling layout - no blind shots, 30 yard wide fairways with deep rough and large deep bunkers with great sand I played it all the way back at 6980 yards - it was fun however the wind was up and I misclubed a few times. I asked the pro shop how the 17th hole - a 230 yard par 3 was the 18th handicap hole and they just chuckled and understood - # 11 is a 232 downhill par 3 but all carry due to a bunker across the whole front of the green. The greens were large decently fast and true. My only complaint was a few tree limbs have grown out into the fairway and you have to move the ball off the tee left to right and they over hang into the fairway which gives you even less room to hit the fairway. The second shot on the last par 5 on the back has zero bailout on the left due to water / swamp all down that side and you have to move your second shot left to right to get to the 100 yard marker there is another large limb reducing the area to move the ball through especially if you are trying to get home in 2. Overall it's hard but a marvelous golf course.
Great track, well maintained and very friendly staff.
A beautiful day and a beautiful course that has been well maintained. Greens were moderately quick but still receptive to scoring irons., Putting was somewhat tricky but greens were well groomed and putts held their lines. Fairways were in very good shape and the tee boxes were well marked and fair. Pace of play started off a bit slow but picked up quickly. Overall, it was a great round on a true gem of a course! I highly recommend playing here!
Nice course, beautiful setting
Nice course for the Golf Now price, wouldn't pay full price. Fairways and greens nicely mowed, not too tight or fast. Lots of huge bunkers, some with not much sand in them, easy to scull it. Very quiet beautiful setting. Saw a Red Tail Hawk so close could just about touch it. Overall a very enjoyable round of golf. Will play again as long as get Golf Now discount.
Love this course
Bedford Valley is a right up there with the best courses in the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo.
Nice Course
I enjoyed Bedford Valley verty much. It is a very secluded course so it is easy to get lost in nature. The course was well maintained and the staff was friendly.
Well maintained but ultimately unchallenging course
I was looking forward to playing this course for a while but upon playing found myself satisfied with the layout and scenery but ultimately unchallenged. Not a hard golf course, even during a rough round of some bad shots still shot 74.
Course was in great shape
Course is challenging but fair and forces you to make shot decision instead of just hitting the ball. I will play again,
Older championship style course.
Great condition, huge greens, huge trees, 7,000 yards from back tees, excellent course.
A great course
Was the sight of the Michigan Open for years.. A great lay out that is my favorite course in the west Michigan area. Course makes you move the ball both ways. A pleasure to play.
Definitely a golfer's course
Well Maintained. Quite long from the back tees, so I just played from the middle. Every shot makes you think about where you need to play the next one from. Decent amount of strategy is required, but you could shoot low if you're on. A good challenge for an average to decent golfer.
Gem
Greens run true, ruff will penalize, tee to green lets you score....everything a golf course should be. Only complaint would be that there were a lot of mosquitoes.
One of the best courses in south west Michigan
The Scott family courses have always been a great destination.
Enjoyable course to play, challenging yet not too difficult
Enjoyed this course - excellent condition and just enough difficulty to make it interesting.
Course was in great shape, price was outstanding
The golfnow price of $10 was awesome for the type of course. Not too challenging but playable for anyone.
Labor Day
Championship tees provided quite the challenge. Really had to rely on short game to show my young son-in-law who is boss!!! If you like Mother Nature and trees, this is the course for you.
