Last golf day prior to Winter
Course was still maintained although it was 11/17 in Michigan. The owners work the pro shop themselves and are very friendly and down to earth.
Better Than Expected
Bello Woods is an older coarse, but the grounds have been pretty well maintained. The tee boxes and greens are in excellent shape. A few of the fairways are hard, but I played at a time when we've had little rain.
Makes Maple Lane look like a championship course
Wow, where do I begin?!? As mentioned in the title, this place makes maple lane look like Oakland Hills. I put this place on par with palmer park in Detroit and that place doesn't even have discernible fairways. First off was the starter, basically some kid who didn't say or do anything but sit there and look lost. Had to approach him to get any reaction and he sent us off white to red. First hole I began to notice how little pride they take in this cours . The fairways looked like they hadn't been cut in a week and were more like rough. Dirt patches and standing water lined what would be the fairways. The greens varied in length so there was no chance to develop a consistency in speed in putting. The carts paths could best be described as moguls and will jar you and your clubs like a 7.8 magnitude quake. About 20% of the fairways are completely dead with massive amounts of dirt patches in the fairways. This all became extremely apparent in the first few holes. Then we get to the backed up fifth hole and realize that the starter put us behind four foursomes. As a twosome, absolutely unacceptable. There were five, six and sevensomes on this course. Pace of play was terrible, took 5 1/2 hours for a twosome to play 18. This is a true beginners course, as in you could take somebody here who has never played to hack away their first round. Nobody will care, because nobody cares about this place anyways. That was super obvious. This place belongs as another reviewer put it 'in a trailer park', but even then it wouldn't help it to save face. Honestly, this place needs to be sold to someone who actually knows how to maintain a course, but even then, the layout is extremely basic. As it stands now they should just close it down and turn it into a dog park. I will never play here again, nor would I suggest you do. Do yourself a favor and drive ten miles to maple lane if you're thinking about going here, that place is a craphole too, but a heck of a lot better than this horrible course. I don't care how cheap it is, trust me, it's not worth it.
A Short Course -- Greens Tricky to Read
It is a friendly atmosphere. Mostly regulars in the early morning and leagues in the evening. The 11 - 1 time frame is a good time to get out.
Fairways were decent. Greens cared for. An enjoyable experience. Not going to lose any balls there.
Not to bad.
White course is challenging gold course was pretty straight forward. I haven't played the red course yet but I will be playing it soon. Over all pretty nice course.
Slow Pace of Play
This course is full of old people and women. If you want to play a quick round this is not your place. Left after 11 holes. Took almost 3 hours as a single to play 11 holes, brutal!!!!
Nice Course
This course allows you to work on your golf game. Red and White is wide open from the tee. Gold challenges you of which club to play.
Ok course
Bello Woods is an ok course. We played in the afternoon and it looked like the greens needed to be cut. This course makes you think with its tight wooded fairways. Overall we enjoyed our round and if we get another Golf Now deal we may be back.
Terrible start
We had a 9:30 tee time and when we got out there, there was 10 carts lined up with no starter. We ended up behind people with a 10 am tee time. Other than the slow play, the course was fun. So, be aware, if you don't mind waiting an hour to get on course, this place is for you
Played 18 in 2 hours
I played so fast because the course is somewhat short but i also played the best round of the year shooting an even par 72 with 4 birdies, 10 pars and 4 bogeys. I passed up 6 groups of people which was great because every group asked me to pass before I attempted too and every time I hit a beauty. 260 down the middle every time and almost getting a hole in one on the 4th hole i played landing only a foot away. Also got my first chip in birdie of the year as well. Enough about me, the course was in great condition. The greens rolled true but this course has those trees with helicopter leaves so the greens need to be cleaned everyday which is seemed like they did. This course is similar in difficulty to maple lane but i think it takes better shot making because there are several holes with creeks across the fairway so you need a club in your bag to carry 200 in the air. Also there are a lot of holes on the gold course with narrow fairways that are lined with trees. I am going to come back to this course all year if i can get it at a good deal again. Also the people in the clubhouse were friendly unlike cherry creek down the street.
Bello woods
Very nice course, very fair pricing. Lots of water obstacles on course. Very good snack choices/bar
Wet, Wet, Wet
There are some serious drainage problems on this course. Water, damp/spongy ground, wet traps, etc. Pace was great and the price was awesome.
Fun day
Came with my son and his friend. Course was looking good and playing we never really waited to tee off. When we were done there was a party going on and the kids were running where you bring carts back, should have staff watching this better. Otherwise great day playing golf and weather was beautiful
Bella woods
Course was very wet due to weather but was okay for this time of year
Enjoyed my first time here
First time golfing here. Played the red/white. We were advised to avoid the gold course due to playing late in the season and all the leaves. I appreciated the heads up and will play here in the spring to try the gold course. The pro shop was closed up but the staff in the clubhouse was happy to walk down and open it up so I could make a purchase. Play was smooth with only a minor back up with one senior group ahead of us near the turn who were out enjoying the day at their own pace. Due to this we had a pair on our heels but after the turn there were no issues at all.
I will play here again for sure. Especially if I can find the great deal on golf now that I had on this round.
Bello Woods - White/Gold
I was a little skeptical before playing as a friend told me he encountered a few rude staff members and the conditions were spotty but my partner and I didn't seem to have any of those problems. It was a beautiful day and everyone there was very nice. The drink prices were great and each hole had it's own feel. For a beautiful Friday afternoon there didn't seem to be too many people there and the pace was excellent. There were some really choppy cart paths at times. If you have the chance (and a deal) check this course out.
Good value nice course
Course was in good condition, and the greens were
a little tricky.I recomand to all types of golfers.
Good time at Bello Woods
Course is in relatively good condition. Fairly easy layout. About 6100 on the scorecard but the tees were moved all the way up so it probably played closer to 5600 or 5700. Lawn crew was with us at the first three holes. No worries though as there weren't any other golfers within 2 holes from us. Overall, a fun experience and at $18 per, you really can't beat the price. Finished 18 in just under 3 hours.
Good value for the price we paid for Saturday golf
Bello Woods is an interesting course with 3 different 9's. We played the White and Gold courses. The White is very straight with some water that comes into play. The greens on the White course are out of this world. They were in good shape, but severely sloped--some had hills! I would need to put on those a few more times to get it down. A golf outing was about to start so we were moved to the Gold course--what a difference. The Gold course has sharp doglegs, tight, wooded fairways, and a lot of hidden water. Both courses were a little soggy. The carts were a little underpowered. Because the three 9's are all on one big piece of property, you will have golf balls flying all over the place so watch out. I liked the courses overall and we only paid $14 per person to golf on Saturday so I felt it was quite a bargain. I'm sure we'll play here again.
