A Great Value for the price
Cedar Glen is a great value for golf. It's in good shape and a nice layout. Pace started slow but the ranger keeps it moving. It's not a difficult course but challenging enough for better golfers.
Cedar Glen GC
If you’re looking to pick up a round last minute,or just want to work on your game, this place is a winner.
No, it’s not one of the elite courses in SE Michigan but for the price it’s a solid value
Cedar Glen
Aside for the chaos at the tee box (no starter) and the fact thay they do not regulate play by allowing 2-somes and singles in between 4 somes, we still were able to enjoy the course even though it was a 5 1/2 hour round.
Sad
Need to re-due yardage markers in fairways that would cost very little money. Some holes they were non existent or over grown with grass. Put up posts for 200, 150 and 100 yards. Would help speed up play.
Cart paths for lack of are very bumpy. Rattle your teeth bumpy and not good on the back. Grass bunkers are pretty sad.
Greens are pretty good.
The guy behind the counter had no emotion. I don’t think he even wanted to be there.
Course
Course was in good condition including the green. Greens were also challenging.
Average Course
Poorly maintained bunkers. Greens were hit and miss on being patchy. Sticks and Debry on several holes that affected fairways.
Solid and Budget friendly
Course has a real fun layout and you are required to hit some different shots- Fades, Draws short and long par 4s from the tips. Conditions good not great but for the price - worth it
Good practice course
This was my first time playing the course. The course layout must have recently changed because my GPS was not accurate (1st hole is now the 10th hole). Some of the tee boxes are not in great shape. The fairways are decent; some bare spots but overall fair. The greens are in pretty good shape and offer enough undulation to make it challenging. The biggest issue with the course are the bunkers, which don't really exist. They are filled with grass and weeds. The pace of play was decent. I caught up with a foursome on the 4th hole, but they were moving at a decent pace (as a single, I expect to wait and I take my time so that the foursome does not feel rushed). The back nine was wide open and I finished in 1.5 hours. One thing I should mention is that the golf carts are quite dated with no windshields (would be a problem on rainy days). I would play again for the price.
Good Course
Decent course, fairly open. Only real negative is there is no sand in any of the bunkers.
Redid the layout
Lay was changed from my last time on the course. The GPS wasn’t updated so I was thrown off for a while
NEVER EVER PLAY HERE
I don’t usually do reviews about anything, but I have to say something about Cedar Glen. I paid about 40 something dollars for 18 and I played the day after it rained but this course was the worst experience I have ever had golfing. There was no fairways to start. You could hit a ball right down the middle. The rough
is the same as the fairway. The course was so wet and it did not drain that even if you did hit a shot in what they called the fairway, it would just plug into the ground and I lost a couple balls that went right down the middle this was the most poorly maintained course I have ever played in my four years of golfing. I understand that it’s still April but I’ve played a lot of courses so far this season that I’ve all been ready to receive customers I would not spend a single dollar to play at this place and do not recommend it.
Should be closed
Early season robbery. The course is water logged and in awful condition. The middle of the fairways are wet to the point your feet sink into the grass. Be sure to wear waterproof everything. I would not return to this course if it was free.
