Great course for a relaxing (SLOW) round
Nice layout, with improving conditions from tees to greens. Packed course with golfers enjoying the day. If you don't mind 5 hour round, then it's fantastic...
Recent Reviews are Spot On
First time playing here. Great layout; challenging course; but it's in really rough shape right now. Practice range (first impressions start here) was a mess; solid crabgrass and divots, though there were a couple decently maintained chipping greens behind the range. First tee box (again, first impressions) was really worn down with little evidence of maintenance beyond mowing. Several other tee boxes in poor shape as well. Fairways and greens overall were decent, though I recall one fairway on the back nine that was pretty much fried. I'd say half the traps needed sand. I paid $35 to play which is probably what it's worth in current condition. Though that said, I would not play again for $35. Will only play again when course is brought back to reasonable standards and will gladly pay more. A layout like this, decently maintained, would be $75-$125 in Chicago area. Too nice a layout to let it degrade like this. Hope ownership can straighten out the ship.
Slipping & Fall
Course was shockingly in rough shape from last few times I played here.. crab grass, burnt out tee boxes and sand traps were Not good at best. What’s funny is there were a few sand traps that were actually in good condition and they stood out like sore thumb.
Played twilight at $40.00 and that’s about all it’d spend here regardless of time if day.:: to bad because the layout and challenge are great however upkeep is well below par

Fun challenging course
Had a great time here with some friends (12- three separate tee times back to back). Challenging front with a more forgiving back nine. Would definitely come back with how friendly their staff was!

Typical run down course
Uninviting pro shop staff. Nice cart barn & beer cart people.
Very good layout, tough course from back tees.
HOWEVER- Soaked, fungus, dirt-spots, bumpy greens. Soaked, diseased, baked, divots galore fairways & tees. Unkept, non-raked, stone ridden, extra firm bunkers. Weeds overgrowing edges everywhere. Weeds growing high to block green & fairway views.
Not worth the money or time to play

Course overall great track....do to Corvid management has had a hard time getting green keepers back to work....
Which has affected the conditions of the course...I.e. tee boxes...grass conditioning throughout the course.
The course is a beautiful layout...just needs all the staff back to make it perfect!!

First time playing this course this year. Staff was very friendly/accommodating. The course conditions have really degraded-very disappointing. Traps a mess, dead grass virtually everywhere, tee boxes in poor shape. Ok. Value for $40....wouldn’t pay much more.

Place had gone down hill in quality.
Really bad conditions. Holes in the fairway, cart path and the worst was the tee boxes. This place is basically a higher end muni.

Course was in generally decent condition several sand traps were suspect. Greens were good. Some blotchy and mis colored but not bad. Tee boxes were just okay and pace of play was a bit slow.

Whit
First 6 holes are brutal. Unreasonable combo of long carry shots, narrow fairways and small, uneven landing areas. Back 9 more playable. Never saw a ranger all day & the pace was horrible. 5 hour round.

Tight fairways
The only dislike about Whittaker Woods is , most of the tee's have blind landing areas. Would be a great course other than that.

Foursome fun
The golf course is always tough with woods, rough, and wet areas to catch your ball! Course was not in as good of shape as in recent visits-some rough spots in fairways and greens. We had quite a long wait to get a golf cart for our playing partners as well which is not usually the case. That being said we didn’t have anyone in front so still finished playing in 4 hours or a little less. They did a great job cleaning and sanitizing carts and taking precautions in Clubhouse with the virus. Nice day with friends as always on the golf course.

Course needs more funding
I've played here a few times and it's too expensive for the lack of effort put into maintaining the course to playable conditions. Always hear about the glory days of the course 20-30 years ago. No money going into the course and it shows. Layout is amazing but everything is in bad condition.

Woodlands Course at Whitaker Woods meets expectations
A challenging layout features excellent greens and many right to left holes. Set in the beautiful woods of southwest Michigan. It's proximity to Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana make it a must for serious golfers.
The staff is very friendly.
Bring your best putter and drive it straight.

Rough shape
This course used to be so nice,. The course was super dry with many burnt out areas on most holes. I was so disappointed.
