Typical run down course
Uninviting pro shop staff. Nice cart barn & beer cart people.
Very good layout, tough course from back tees.
HOWEVER- Soaked, fungus, dirt-spots, bumpy greens. Soaked, diseased, baked, divots galore fairways & tees. Unkept, non-raked, stone ridden, extra firm bunkers. Weeds overgrowing edges everywhere. Weeds growing high to block green & fairway views.
Not worth the money or time to play

Course overall great track....do to Corvid management has had a hard time getting green keepers back to work....
Which has affected the conditions of the course...I.e. tee boxes...grass conditioning throughout the course.
The course is a beautiful layout...just needs all the staff back to make it perfect!!
Should lower price....do to conditions.
First time playing this course this year. Staff was very friendly/accommodating. The course conditions have really degraded-very disappointing. Traps a mess, dead grass virtually everywhere, tee boxes in poor shape. Ok. Value for $40....wouldn’t pay much more.

Place had gone down hill in quality.
Really bad conditions. Holes in the fairway, cart path and the worst was the tee boxes. This place is basically a higher end muni.

Course was in generally decent condition several sand traps were suspect. Greens were good. Some blotchy and mis colored but not bad. Tee boxes were just okay and pace of play was a bit slow.

Whit
First 6 holes are brutal. Unreasonable combo of long carry shots, narrow fairways and small, uneven landing areas. Back 9 more playable. Never saw a ranger all day & the pace was horrible. 5 hour round.

Tight fairways
The only dislike about Whittaker Woods is , most of the tee's have blind landing areas. Would be a great course other than that.

Foursome fun
The golf course is always tough with woods, rough, and wet areas to catch your ball! Course was not in as good of shape as in recent visits-some rough spots in fairways and greens. We had quite a long wait to get a golf cart for our playing partners as well which is not usually the case. That being said we didn’t have anyone in front so still finished playing in 4 hours or a little less. They did a great job cleaning and sanitizing carts and taking precautions in Clubhouse with the virus. Nice day with friends as always on the golf course.

Great course. Pace of play was less than desirable, however, great course. Layout is nice and well worth the money.

Course needs more funding
I've played here a few times and it's too expensive for the lack of effort put into maintaining the course to playable conditions. Always hear about the glory days of the course 20-30 years ago. No money going into the course and it shows. Layout is amazing but everything is in bad condition.

Woodlands Course at Whitaker Woods meets expectations
A challenging layout features excellent greens and many right to left holes. Set in the beautiful woods of southwest Michigan. It's proximity to Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana make it a must for serious golfers.
The staff is very friendly.
Bring your best putter and drive it straight.

Rough shape
This course used to be so nice,. The course was super dry with many burnt out areas on most holes. I was so disappointed.

Beautiful and strategic
With woods on one side and wetlands on the other, it's very important to hit it straight... and the doglegs make you pick your angle wisely. Bring a few "extra" balls! We enjoyed the challenge and we'll gladly return to this beautiful course. I'll bet it's really spectacular in the Fall when the leaves change.

Beautiful course
This course is challenging and spread out across the forests. The first seven holes are very challenging. Then big complaint to me was the sand traps. Some had fluffy sand and some looked like a rock quarry. Very inconsistent and was my only big complaint.

Over-priced
The traps had plenty of water. Tee boxes were brown. Greens were in poor shape. I was told to take a cart that had garbage from previous golfer. I hope they clean them better for the next golfer during these times when it should be sanitized.

TLC Required
This course needs some TLC. A large portion of the fairway grass is brown and dying, and the greens have a decent amount of dead spots as well. Overall a pretty challenging course, as there are a lot of sand traps, narrow fairways, and hilly greens. Further they had no food available for sale on the course. I would say that this course is definitely overpriced as well. $70 on weekdays and $100 on weekends is way more than what it is worth. Would say the current conditions make it only worth as much as $30. I think with some grass-seed, fertilizer, and water this course could be in much better shape. Hope to see it rebound.

Course has not been maintained
I'm not sure if the current economic conditions have had an impact, but I found the course to be in poor condition. The grass was mostly burnt out, the tee boxes were hard as a rock, the greens were uneven and mostly brown, the bunkers had hardly any sand in them at all. The layout is great and it would be a very nice course if it was maintained. I would suggest that the course either lower their rates or invest the money needed to properly maintain a golf course.
