Golfer Reviews
They don't care to much on this course. Mower just kept mowing while I was on the, didn't even care! No cart beverage! No ball washers! Tees are gone at best! Anyway-- got a great deal on golf now! But won't go back, regardless of deal
First time here.
The gps sends you into the wrong area of the course, but once we got there the staff was very friendly. The fairways were hard and there wasn’t much difference between that and the rough. Pace of play was fine with it being a Tuesday. At times it was a little challenging finding the next hole, but for the price this was a very nice course to play. Challenging at times causing you to be strategic with shots. I would golf here again.
Hometown Course
This course has seen multiple owners throughout the years. The greens are nice and the fair ways are hit or miss depending on how well they are watered. The course plays short and gets pretty narrow holes 4-8 and 14-18. Overall it is a fun course but I would only play if I find a hot deals.
Course Was in Rough Shape
The only thing in decent condition on this course were the greens. The tee boxes and the fairways were basically non existent. They clearly haven’t watered the course, ever. $72 for two people is definitely not worth it.
Rough Conditions
To begin I’d like to say staff was friendly and the greens were in really good condition.
However- there were non existent cart paths, and the ones that were around it was like driving in the Baja 500. The cart we had from the 1970’s barely was able to handle the bumps on the paths and in the “fairways”. I by no means am a golfer who can hit the fairway every hole, but these fairways weren’t even fairways. The “rough” was just across the entire course. If you can’t hit the green on a par 5, then you’re shooting off hard/overgrown grass no matter how accurate your shot.
The tee boxes were also no in too great of shape. This is all fine if the course wasn’t so expensive, but $72 for two golfers on a Sunday when the conditions are in this sort of shape seems bit steep. A better price would’ve been $20/golfer… could understand the course conditions then. Also- if they could turn on a sprinkler at least once a week, it might help.
First time playing this course and I’m not sure why. I live less than 10 minutes away. What a little gem. Not long but tough layout. Bring plenty of balls! I’ll be back often.
Unmowed fairways, okay staff
Guy inside the pro shop was completely fine, lady who was closing was very pushy and in an obvious rush. We tee'd off at around 3pm, three of us. We had let two doubles and a single past us. Came around the turn right before 6 and the lady rode up to us in the fairway where we were told we were taking way too long and that she "wanted to go home". I get where she is coming from but that is terrible customer service. Instead of playing our own balls we opted to scramble and still she came up behind us once again on hole 17. On top of that she had the audacity to play behind us. If you're in a rush and want to go home why are you out playing golf behind us.
Not even mentioning the course conditions. The fairway you can barely tell is the fairway. The course was extremely bumpy on the cart. My back was rather sore after the ride in the cart which never happens to me. Ground also felt rock solid.
The hole design is frankly the only nice thing I have to say about the course. Very challenging but also can be easy to cut corners if you're an accurate shot.
Older low price, greens in best condition in 30 years!
Have played here for over 30 years and for the end of a April the greens were in terrific shape Friday 4/29/22. For $16.99 each for 18 w cart a great value.
Pilgrims open 5/1 and in different league so to speak but 3-4 times the cost.
It’s nice to get out with the wife for $34 and certainly will force you to hit straight, very narrow fairways, average at best fairway conditions, and a mix of mid nineties design and close to 100 year old small greens.
Not for everyone, not a destination, but for a cheap local Dutchman good value
Long grass
Long grass and terrible pace of play. Super rough cart paths and rough carts
