Located just three miles south of downtown Portland, Willow Wood Golf Club sprawls across acres of rolling countryside laced with meandering creeks and ribbons of mature woodlands. The naturally hilly terrain lent itself perfectly to a challenging championship course. Golfers will encounter a range of ups and downs but the golf course is a manageable 6,200 yards from the back tees. It's a layout that will keep you on your toes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course will test your skills, requiring creative shot making throughout. Each hole requires a different strategy and presents risk-reward opportunities, you're guaranteed to use every club in your bag. One of Willow Wood Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 eighth. It has a sloped green with bunkers on the left, but a birdie might be a possibility if the wind is on your side.

Very nicely conditioned links, wife liked it too
Only found out about this course from TeeOff/ golfnow. Kept up real well, not many ball marks or divots. They had tee markers taken away but I challenged myself to the 6100 yrs tips which is all I want as a 65 yr old. Plenty of traps and a few creeks and pond on 10th. Scored a great rate here on TeeOff, $31 for wife and I with golfpass points and discounts.
Nice quiet electric club car carts.
J. Gorney did a great job here and it was worth the hour and fifteen minute drive, very modern feel, built in 1998.

Hidden Gem!
Definitely off the beaten path but at the same time, not too far from downtown Portland and the highway. Great course. It is VERY well kept and maintained. I wouldn't call it an easy course as there are quite a few bunkers and many dog legs to keep it interesting. Hitting from the blues makes it more fun in my opinion. We played a few holes from there instead just to get a feel for some of the dog legs. Super fun course though. Would make the trip from Grand Rapids and play again over many of the courses in nearby Lansing.
Nice course
I played this course with my daughter and it’s in excellent shape with very fast greens. It’s a fun course and well maintained.
Great Course
First time playing, was in the area for a golf outing and played this for only $30 on a a deal.

Nice course, good pric
This is a hidden gem. It is pretty short, but very challenging. Fairways are narrow and greens are well maintained. Take a lot of balls.
Great course off beaten path
I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this course was. It has a hilly terrain and nice tree rolling undulating greens. There are two different 9's. The first is cut through trees with the back being more wide open. We played the blue tees to add distance to the holes. I would recommend this course which is a great value for what is paid in green fees and the conditions of the course.
Great course, in great condition
The course is in great condition, price was great, have played many times and will continue to come back.
Solid Value
Good layout and challenge for the price. Decent pace of play but that is just luck of the draw. Greens were beautiful and fairways good. The rough is rough. Worth a try if you have never been to Willow Wood.
Truly is a Hidden Gem
Almost to nice to let others in on this "Hidden Gem". This for me is a "Risk/Reward" course. Don't be afraid to lay up or bomb away (your choice). Sand traps could use some work (2.5 to 3 inches of rain the night before), so some were ponds. Always enjoy.
