They over book
Too many people too close to tee time, course needs work but value is through low rates
Royal Scott
Do not recommend waste of your money. Tea boxes are chewed up. They don’t know how to mow. Avoid this place at all cost tea boxes look like the Vietnam war
Bad maintenance
The condition of the fareways were not recommended at all. The course was not maintained correctly. I used to play and enjoyed it but I was shocked how the course was destroyed.
Non-transparent pricing
Between Golfnow and the course, the pricing - and the logistics of getting from one of the three 9's to the other - was maddening. Will not go back again and am cancelling my Golfnow subscription.
I had to tell the 7 golfers that they each had to pay an additional $10. Plus, senior rates were discontinued. And the greens, normally their strong suit, were scalped with some of the undulating greens pretty bad.
Not sure if their was a change in ownership but it is not the course it once was
Never going back
What a tremendous difference one year has made on this course, absolutely no intentions of mowing the difference between fairways and rough, the fairways look like they’re not even fertilized. The greens are awful non-receptive uncared for the entire course is like it fell off so much that I will never return again. What a waste of money.
Incredibly Slow Pace of Play - 6 hr round
After paying for 18 holes, I was informed after paying that I didn't get to play the new holes because you have to specifically ask to play those holes (and pay an additional $10/golfer). Then my 1:14pm tee time started at 1:40. Then the round had on average 3 to 4 groups on every hole - no ranger speeding things up. After 2hrs and 55 minutes for the first nine and went to the 10th hole only to find 2 new groups now jammed between us and the original group in front of us, we decided to leave. Horrible golf experience...
Decent layout, but overpriced for course conditions.
Played outside and north 9 last time I golfed here. Inside & outside 9's are usually fairly well maintained. The north 9 was a joke, especially for an extra $10. Almost every green was half dead, dusty dry fairways with little difference in length between them and the rough. Fairly scenic, but the upkeep leaves quite a bit to be desired. There are better courses around to pay under $55 for 18.
Just OK
The front line was in pretty good shape. The rest and that’s so good. I don’t think I would play it again. We did have a good time.
Definitely improving from years past
You can tell they are working hard to improve the conditions from the last few years. Definitely a work in progress but can see the improvements! The staff has been way friendlier this season as well!
Major Improvement
This golf course has seen some rough days but the new golf super intendant and crew alongside him has made this golf course a beautiful and well kept course. With the low price to play and with how amazing everything looks, everyone in Lansing should play here!
Not recommended
Great course….for beginners. While approx 6400 from the whites, the course conditions are not suitable for the intermediate or advanced player. Confusing layout with 5 sets of tees. Traditional courses have a red yellow, white and blue or black tee set. This course uses weird colors. Not a big deal.Come to find out one of the sets is for a soccer golf course, which by the way has a set of tees and at least one green on every hole as well. Looking straight down the fairway you see 3 to 4 flags on every hole as the soccer golf course winds and crosses through the entire 18. They had two fairway mowers going when we were playing. One was a traditional golf course mower, the other a residential 60 inch riding mower. Greens, while they did not hold approach shots very well, were in surprisingly good shape. They rolled slow. There is really no fringe so if you like to putt from the fringe, it is pretty difficult. Their fringe is longer than traditional fairway grass at other courses. Speaking of fairway grass, there were a lot of bare patches and longer than usual grass. The bunkers were OK. The amount of sand in the bunkers is equivalent to the amount of sand all over the course from anthills. Pro shop is adequate at best, with a very limited clothing selection and no club selection. Would not go back again.
