About
Located just three miles south of downtown Portland, Willow Wood Golf Club sprawls across acres of rolling countryside laced with meandering creeks and ribbons of mature woodlands. The naturally hilly terrain lent itself perfectly to a challenging championship course. Golfers will encounter a range of ups and downs but the golf course is a manageable 6,200 yards from the back tees. It's a layout that will keep you on your toes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The course will test your skills, requiring creative shot making throughout. Each hole requires a different strategy and presents risk-reward opportunities, you're guaranteed to use every club in your bag. One of Willow Wood Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 eighth. It has a sloped green with bunkers on the left, but a birdie might be a possibility if the wind is on your side.

Great course
Everything is great about WillowWood! It’s tough enough to be a challenge and make you think but not so much that you can’t have a good time playing
The 2nd best Course on a Dirt Road
Willow Wood is a Open to the Public 18 Holes Golf Course, located off a dirt road.
Dont let the road fool you,
for the money, this is one of the best deals in Michigan. The Greens are always rolling fast, fairways lush and green, ruff can fool you.
Early season play
Course was in good shape after this spring of rain. Greens I would say are the best they have ever been. Raised the rate of 18 . Hopefully the will reconsider rate hike, especially with the cost of gas. Since they are at least 40 min from my house and the east side of Lansing.
Nice place
Willowood is one of the best-kept secrets in mid Michigan. It's an excellent course design the staff is very friendly and the rates are very reasonable I would recommend this course to anyone
Best bang for your buck
I’ve played Willow Wood for years now & have always loved it. Great layout, fun holes, very scenic course in the middle of mid-west Mich. Always in great shape, staff is incredible. Will be golfing here for many more years to come!
End of Season
The course was in great shape. They were blowing out the lines for winter. But it was 78 degree. Calendar said it was time. Funny ah.
Good value course
Overall was a good value course. Holes were challenging at times and greens were nicely kept up. Rough is hard to play some times if you get stuck in it. Course had a good layout with some nice views. Great location and felt was worth the drive.
End of Sept
After all the rain, the course was in great condition. Even with an outing on Sunday.
