Olde Mill Golf Course
About
Olde Mill Golf Club in Schoolcraft opened in 1958. The traditional layout is the perfect example of classic Midwestern golf. The layout winds along Flowerfield Creek, which comes into play throughout. The front nine has six water holes and there are two more on the back, but water isn't the only challenge you'll run into. The challenging golf course can feel much longer than the 6,180-yard length that's listed on the scorecard. The front nine is more open, but also subject to the wind, and the back nine gets much tighter with most of the holes framed by dense woodlands. There are numerous sand traps strategically placed throughout. In addition to the golf course, Olde Mill also has a driving range and practice green available that are great for warming up.

It’s a mess
I played this course many times years ago and it was in great shape and kind of a hidden gem. The price was low and the condition was good back 5 years ago. Since then it was sold to a new owner and the course has fallen apart. The greens are a mess with dead spots or winter rot. The fairways are cut to rough length. The rough is so long you will loose your ball even if you know where it landed. There are deep trenches around the green for what seems to be irrigation with pvc laying around the green. It seems it has been there for a very long time as the first is bone dry and is growing weeds. The tee boxes probably haven’t been watered in years as there is very little grass and the ground is so hard you literally can’t put a tee in the ground, charging what they are for this condition is a joke. Don’t waste your time. It was dirty and the staff was rude as well.
Good Course BAD Grass
The worst part about the course is not only most of the greens have huge holes surrounding them for new pvc Pipes. Noone currently working on them. The rough grass was so tall you were still losing balls you watched hit the ground. Almost better off in the woods ...
Pvc pipes and trenches surrounding every green
Course has had pipes and trenches around every green since October...
Bathrooms are disgusting and dirty. Mention to staff and they think it's funny.
Ruff is so tall you lose ball even if you know where it is.
Poorly managed operation, I would stay away!
Course was in awful condition
Paid for 18 holes and called it quits at the turn because of the condition the front was on. 7/9 holes hate PVC pipes laying on the ground next to the green blocking and redirecting golf balls. Trenches dug up next to the green causing same problem. Shouldn’t be charging the full amount for conditions like this.
Newer carts , simulators, stocked pro shop, great pizza. Course isn't real long makes you hit different style shots. Fun course in the heartland
Thanks so much for your wonderful review, georgereenders. We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your time with us. Please visit again soon. Thanks for choosing Olde Mill Golf Course!
Great round of Golf
Very enjoyable round of golf!
Course was in great shape and staff was very friendly!
Hard to beat $10...
It's hard to say much negative when you pay $10 for 18 holes w a cart. Pace of play was good for most the round till running into a 6some that wouldn't let you through. But again $10 made for an enjoyable experience!
greens were excellent
fairways and tee boxes were in bad shape
Fun course
The front nine is very challenging because it is tight. The course is in very good condition.
Great shape for amount of rain course has received
Hadn't played course for a few years, course in excellent shape, great value, will definitely play again
A great 18 holes
This is one of the good finds in Kalamazoo County!
Had a great day playing a great course.
short but tight
was fun course not long but must keep it in fairway
Take the detour
while not directly on the way to much its only a mile off 131 so if youre nearby or just passing thru stop here and have some fun. newly renovated and fun without beating up your ego or wallet.
Course has an excellent balance of left and right dog legs and straight holes.
This course length is great for the average golfer. The greens are always in great shape and the dog legs require accurate shots to have a chance for par. Although I always use a cart this would be a good course to walk. If you can't hit the fairway on number twelve it's time to take a lesson.
Very nice course and clubhouse.
It's a very fun course to play. There are holes that will test you game. Right out of the gate hole one is a dog leg to the right with water on the right. It's the number 2 handicap hole. If you aim is off you better be a good bunker player the greens are protected with bunkers. Then hole 10 you got to clear about 170 yard of water to get to fairway. So if you duff you tee shot your going to get wet. Then to hole 11 par 3 you got the same water to deal with not as bad. It seems to play longer then it says.
zip zip zoom
We were off the course in four hours. Fun track, not rushed, wish I would of played better. But I say that a lot.13 “Go in through the narrow gate, because broad is the gate and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are going in through it; In other words, I found the sand traps more than the fairways.
Great Course.
We got an excellent deal on GolfNOw.com. played 18 holes with a cart for 10 dollars a piece. finished the course in 3 hours. greens were in great shape.. the ground was a bit hard but we have not seen much rain lately so it was to be expected.
Love it!!! Will be back
Conditions were great, greens excellent, will play again
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve and are working diligently to improve the course. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.
