Olde Mill Golf Course
About
Olde Mill Golf Club in Schoolcraft opened in 1958. The traditional layout is the perfect example of classic Midwestern golf. The layout winds along Flowerfield Creek, which comes into play throughout. The front nine has six water holes and there are two more on the back, but water isn't the only challenge you'll run into. The challenging golf course can feel much longer than the 6,180-yard length that's listed on the scorecard. The front nine is more open, but also subject to the wind, and the back nine gets much tighter with most of the holes framed by dense woodlands. There are numerous sand traps strategically placed throughout. In addition to the golf course, Olde Mill also has a driving range and practice green available that are great for warming up.

The course has dog leg lefts and rights, overall great challenges.
Very good golf course especially for the price! The par three's are tough. The greens are challenging, so make sure your putting is on. Descent par five's and challenging water shots!
Friendlystaff
From the time we arrived until we left, you could not ask for a friendlier group of people. They just seemed they wanted this to be your best day ever on the golf course. It was a fun course to play, and from whart I heard they have made some huge improvements and it is a work in progress. You will enjoy this course if you play it. I will play it again for sure.
Old course, needs some TLC, but improving from previous owners.
Staff very good, value and pace of play were very good. Greens were damaged in a few places but otherwise played fine.
Good course for beginners
Good course for beginners to moderate skill. Not too much character but well kept. Bunkers are gravel pits.
Lost in the woods
good course overall. A few of the greens were needing some major attention however. Virtually every hole had some challenging element, whether it be water, trees or unfavorable pin position. Hard course to score on, but it can be done.
great course for the money
I always love golfing at Olde Mill. They usually run great specials but to book through golfnow and save even more is better.
stay in the fairway
the trap rakes have broken handles watch out for wood and fiberglass splinters, no one told the cart girl how to run the course , people on the 1 st hole probably dont need anything, so the beverage cart goes backward on the course and you approach golfers leaving the green or coming to the next hole not in the middle of the 1 st hole during play, i hope the director corrects this, on weekends a ranger would be nice, was held up by a slow group for 5 holes with 2 holes open in front of them, the greens are rough in spots in time they will grow in, all in all it was a fun day and our group enjoyed themselves
Needs work....Has potential
Four of the greens were pretty ragged in spots....looks like the remnants of Pythium.
In all fairness, the course was just purchased by a new owner so I need to give them a chance to institute the changes needed. As time goes by we'll see if the work starts and continues. On a grand overview I was not dissapointed.
Play was slow but we were escorted to a hole forward of the problem and allowed to come back and play those holes we missed.....fair solution I would say.
Greens need work
The course itself was in good condition, however the greens need work. Many had large (>3') areas of dead, patchy or no grass. Sprinkler heads have been place in several of the putting surfaces effectively ruining any chance of putting in that area.
Coming back around......
I used to play this course years ago and loved it but over the last couple years, it had really gone down hill. It looks like the new owners have it heading back in the right direction.
Course condition improved over last year
New management and staff is taking the course in right direction. Availability of the beer cart in the afternoon would be a great improvement.
Average course, but good value.
Course has some tight conditions. Some areas were under repair. Pace was extremely slow on the front 9, but picked up on the back.
Good course for couples
It fills the void...if you are wanting a challenging course in good shape, this is not it. It is perfect to take your wife and enjoy the round.
Great Bang for the Buck
Course was great! Hot day greens still green. Cheap beer and groups that let you play through.
I purchased the course in 1971. It was only nine holes. It was closed for number of years. Gil Stiver designed nine holes prior to my buying it. I re-designed the course adding an additional nine holes. What is now the back nine did not have any trees. I planted every tree. I contoured all (18) greens. Now at the age of (84) I want to set the record straight about who designed the course. I hope my grand-children enjoy the course. It really only need TLC
