High Handicap Delight.
Courses in bed with Golf Now are not the pristine golf courses for the rich and famous. They seem to be geared toward the average golfer looking at value for money. Wesburn falls in line with that.
Friendly course to the beginner with a good selection of tees and very few if any forced carries where you shouldn’t be losing a lot of golf balls. Front nine is wide open and the back is tighter and occasionally tree lined. It has a 230yd par 3 from the blues and also an 186yd par 4 where a massive tree creates a dogleg.
Laid back attitude at the start. ‘There’s the carts. Go get in line’ was about it !! No starter. No rangers. We went of in mostly singles and doubles. So you wait to hit most shots on a Sunday afternoon but the round actually took less than 4 hours. All in all, I would recommend it as value for money and a great course if you are fairly new to the game.
Great golf course!
This place is a hidden Gem. For the money you really can’t ask for much more. Greens are smooth and roll well, bunkers are soft and sandy, no large areas of dead/missing grass. Best of all you get people in the clubhouse who love what they’re doing and truly care about your experience. This will be in my normal rotation from here on out!
Really liked this course.
This was a fun course to play. No dog legs but so what. Fairways are in good shape. Greens are great shape. Staff was extremely nice. I recommend Washburn and I will play there again.
Great overall experience
This historic 1910s family owned course is under has a new heads greens keeper. The fairways are spongy and the course is in fantastic shape.
We were able to meet the owner after shooting my lowest score to date, a 78. It’s a very forgiving course with its highly cut trees makes it feel like a links course.
She was an absolute saint, she even gave my buddy and free ball market and divot fix tool. Though my buddy and I tend to fix multiple divots left by other golfers her kind gesture was very well received and I will use the poker chip on my next round!
Thanks again! We will be back
