Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course

About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Beautiful, challenging course
Im barely out of the beginner stage. I found it a bit difficult. Thin fairways. So if you are still not accurate. Get ready for a bunch of penalty strokes on thescore card. Still had a great time
First time golfing
First time golfing there it’s a nice muni course with the greens in good shape and excellent value.
Memorial Day Golf
Course was in good condition. Greens were running fast. Got paired up with a father and son and overall it was a great round. It's fun meeting new people on the course.
Good course and good value
I like Lake Erie Metropark, it’s a pretty fun course that is usually in decent shape. Price-wise, I think it’s hard to beat. The pace of play can be pretty mediocre at best, I don’t usually see a ranger moving things along which is frustrating. Still, it’s one of my favorite courses to play in the area.
The Greens
The greens are in excellent condition right now.
Clubhouse staff is great. Guys cutting grass stopped and talked to us and we're friendly and welcoming.
Exceptional Customer Service
The manager was extremely helpful, kind, and welcoming. I had a late afternoon tee time and I appreciated not getting rushed off the course.
Love Erie!
Great public course. The pace of the three groups ahead of us were very slow. The foursome in front if us started late causing us to behind y 10 minutes.
Needs work
Of how many people frequently book their tee times week in week out, their greens are better than what I’ve seen at other state parks. Some holes are in rough shape but overall good practice course. Attached one photo of the craters in the fairway. If you land on the green fix your divots! After a handful of holes they have water jugs for free which should be applied to all courses!
Looooong
This coarse is mostly long par 4's. It's a very nice coarse just long. Pace of play was pretty good. Didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for the group in front of us. It was cart path only for the day which was kind of annoying but a fun experience for or foursome. I would definitely play it again.
