Overpriced
I went to pay and the very nice lady told me what it was, and I said no Im playing 9 holes, and she said "I know". She knows, they all know, it's overpriced this year. Nice course, but it's not a resort level course. Paying for location to town I guess?
Awesome layout and great greens!
The course is in perfect shape. Greens are awesome. Rough was challenging but very playable. Staff was very pleasant and beverage cart girl had great selection of drinks. Great staff inside at the bar, and great atmosphere Highly recommend this course! Will play it again a few more times this summer!
Great value
Laid back northern Michigan course..challenging but fair
Great golf course!
We enjoyed our round of golf so much that we are playing it again in three days. The fairways were a pleasure to hit from!
Friendly & Beautiful
The staff could not be nicer at this course. The condition of the course was unbelievable. Must eat at Mulligan’s after. This course has it all. Highly recommend.
Watch out for errant range balls!
We had a great time at The Crown - until the 17th hole. The course is fun and well-maintained, and the layout is enjoyable. Shout out to the friendly bar and kitchen staff who added to the good vibes.
Unfortunately, our round took a turn when multiple balls came flying over our heads while we were playing the 17th. One struck a member of our group in the leg. We were unable to finish the hole due to the clear safety hazard. When we called out to the people on the range to be more careful, their response was, “You’re on a golf course, this should be expected.” Congrats on the players nuking drivers over the trees, but there needs to be safety measures in place.
What made the situation worse was the lack of response from the pro shop staff and unapologetic ranger. Instead of expressing concern or taking steps to address the safety issue, they seemed more bothered that we raised our voices than the fact that someone was hit by a golf ball. Player safety should come first, and on this day, it clearly wasn’t.
This incident ruined what had been an excellent day. Unless the course takes meaningful steps to prioritize safety—especially with how dangerously close the range is to the 17th—I'd recommend playing elsewhere. Or, wear a helmet.
Please do better.
Awesome course
Front nine was awesome but the back nine was incredible. Very challenging. We learned alot from our first time playing the course. We look forward to playing it again.
Great course! Staff are top notch.
Course was in great shape. Aeriorated greens but it did not affect the play. So glad they stayed open beyond Oct!
Just didn’t turn us on, one and done
My wife and I were not really impressed with this course. It’s not Ben grass and of course there’s 1 million condos but there’s no measurements to tell you how far you are from the hole a simple 150 white steak would be perfect and wouldn’t cost much.. Of course, was just rated with big plug holes on the green so of course they did not roll through true. We only paid $57 for the two of us on GolfNow so honestly that’s all we felt it was worth. I can’t understand pain 50 6070 bucks or whatever they charge here. I gotta give them credit. They were working hard on the course their aeration machine was going full tilt and Dave. The nice older gentleman. Cleaning carts was a real nice guy and the two young men in the clubhouse were also nice young gentleman but unfortunately I just compared it to Sundance that Agaming we just played today October 22 Tuesday and that was night and day difference and we only paid $74 for the two of us with our golf pass points and what not so I would not play that course again or highly recommend it to anybody too many other courses closer to home
Warm fall round
Beautiful fall warm day. Course was in great condition. Need to have a quick halfway house to grab a dog and drinks at the turn quickly. Beverage cart was on course but no food only drinks.
