The Timbers Golf Course
About
Timbers Golf Club is situated just 10 minutes from Frankenbluth in Vassar, a town that is known for its great shopping. Though you might look at the 133-slope rating and pass it off as a "resort course," it would be a mistake to underestimate this golf course. It starts with a challenging front nine that features tight fairways and tricky doglegs. There are also several marshes scattered through and water comes into play on seven holes. At 3,141 yards, Timbers' front nine will put your short and mid-iron skills to the test while the back nine is a little longer at 3,454 yards. There are considerably more sand bunkers on the back. Be sure to build up your score on the par 3s and par 4s because the tough par 5s are sure to swallow a few shots.

Career Ranger/Starters at this course
Shop staff are 15 years old give or take a year. Can’t even blame them since I was just about the same way at their age, get some money, some free golf, and go home. However, for the rangers, this is their career. I was approached by one, a singular shot of our final green and given a shove to the chest because it was “cart path only” this message was never relayed due to shop staff that likely make $7.5 and hour. We finished our hole after this and went on about our evening. I wouldn’t recommend this course to much of anyone. The number of courses I’ve played that are better quality than this and haven’t been “cart path only” after an hour or two of rain is lame. This course out of all, does not deserve the rule ever to my understanding. For the starter to come two hand push me is the most pathetic thing I’ve experienced. I hope his sorry day improved after than. God bless this course and select staff, they need it. Don’t play
Windy 18 holes
The wind was whipping about 30 mph at times but still it was a good day! We even helped the ranger move a tree that had fallen across the cart path
Got a deal online and had a great time!
Great Fun Course
Had a great round at this course. We were rain delayed but starter made it work out great for us, starting us between a group who had late arrivals. Conditions were beautiful. Some of the nicest greens we've encountered. Fairways in great shape as well. Really enjoyed the design, not too difficult, easy to read layup holes. Planning to go back for sure!
Hidden Jewell
Great course in a very rural area. Corse is kept in great shape and fun to play.
One of my Favorites
This is one of my favorite courses, laid out nicely in nature. Plenty of trees. Nicely maintained course.
Nice shape
I'm so glad I went back to this course, after golfing there last year was not sure if I would go back. The course was not in good shape. I am so glad I did the course in good shape for this time of the year, the greens were in great shape and rolled true.
Fun course
I highly recommend playing the Timbers. Fun course to play.
Bring your swamp buggy and balls, fun course for sale $1.5 million
We have golfed northern Michigan, southern Michigan, Western Michigan, and not too much eastern Michigan so this time we made the trip over towards Frankenmuth and did not want to spend the price of the fortress and everything in Frankenmuth the chicken dinners, and all that are very expensive and over priced as far as I’m concerned, then we found this course about 510 minutes from Frankenmuth. Call the Timbers and scored a deal for $30 each and the ratings were pretty good so we booked it.
We started about half hour early 1 o’clock on a Friday afternoon and breeze through the front nine pretty much all woods and a lot of swamps. I don’t think I’ve seen more swamps ever even swamp fire up in Garland did not have this many swamps, and Carrie‘s, but it was fun. Very challenging And then on the back nine we played through one foursome and then you ran into a few homes. There was one hole that had a real weird looking house on a dog leg par five that was like a 90° dog leg and it had nets all over the house because it must’ve got quite a few times But the overall condition of this course is pretty good not perfect by any means but the layout in the the mounds and the swamps in the woods, create a very visually stunning course close to Trent Frankenmuth as I said, so we did Bronners and then we went up to Bay City, and had a very nice dinner at Luckys steakhouse in State and Bay City, and then worked her way up to Houghton Lake and played a course there that was having so much fun and place is old and called white deer which I do not recommend then I will review that next, so yes I will try this course. Call the Timbers mom it is for sale for 1.5 million if you want to buy it seems to be a pretty nice area but overall yeah the surface conditions were a few spotty areas but overall they took good care of the course to greens were not overly fast and it was a relatively flat Course yes it was a flat course, but bring some extra balls because there is a lot of swamp water in lakes and ponds and all that good stuff so enjoyed it. Thank you.
