A Macomb County Gem
I play here most Sundays from late April thru September and every other Saturday. Entirely different course from the blue or black tees v the whites.
Low spots get water logged after a heavy rain, but the greens are always in good shape & challenging regardless of the weather.
No green is flat and slope as follows:
R - L: 1, 5, 6, 7, 9 , 10, 14,
L - R: 18
B - F: 2, 3, 4, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17
Landing position on your tee shots especially important on 1 (tree in middle of fairway), 5 (pond), 8 (penalty area), 15 (ponds on the left for entire carry), 17 (heavily bunkered on left and pond on right) and 18 (pond on left for entire carry and fairway bunker along right side).
Our players course
Glaciers is deceptively challenging. It is a true test of golf. It is not tripped up to look difficult and not be. I think it’s the best players course in Macomb county.
Pace and pins
Course is immaculate, as always. Only exception is apparently no one fixes ball marks. I must have fixed 4 or 5 on every hole. Second, this is already a tough course, with tricky greens, but nearly every pin today was in what I would call championship location. C'mon, we're amateurs! Last, there was a foursome of residents in front of us that we waited 2-3 minutes on every shot. 5 hours 10 minutes to play today and my group is usually done in just over 4.
Good track, slow paced
Worth the effort! Nice greens and layout! But slow paced.
Course is very well maintained , however it is very difficult for the average everyday golfer.
Super slow
It took 5 and half hours to do 18 holes
I never experienced such a slow pace, we had to wait at every tees 30 minutes.
That was insane, difficult to play fun golf in such condition.
Slowwwww
We knew it would be bad on a Saturday but it took 3:26 to make the turn. We weren’t even able to finish 11……if they want to charge nice course money, then the ranger can’t just be a greeter.
